What ratio are you two counting? I don't remember which thread it started in and now I'm too lazy to look it up
I suppose my posts are so compelling that Calvin feels compelled to count them.

If only that were true, what a wonderful world it would be.

The starter was replaced. The solenoid failed. I am picking it my tomorrow morning so I will let you know how it runs. I still am astonished that it took them something like 15 hours of labor to get to the starter, diagnose it and replace it. BMW really buried the starter in the 550i.

I really did like my 335 xi loaner. From 0-70, the car is a beast. My 550 does seem to have better acceleration at highway speeds but the 335 trounces it in 0-60. And the 335xi does exhibit much more body roll in the turns than my 550 which basically has none. The 335xi's lateral grip is not nearly as tenacious as the 550. Also, the 335 xi has the same annoying throttle delay as my 550.

Ridiculous that its a 15 hour affair to replace a starter! Glad you're getting the car back though! Hopefully, this time its fixed... (crossing my fingers)
