Somehow, I lost that cap on the bumper, and now it's all open. It's the square cap that covers the opening. Is it pretty common to lose it? Do I have to go to the stealer to get a replacement at a rip off price? I hope they come in the body color.

By the way what is that opening for?

It's just a cover for the rear tow hook hole. (it's purely cosmetic and nothing will break etc) But, some people steal the covers because they're missing theirs or to sell it or as a prank :/ (happened to my mtech rear )

Found the part, but it only comes primed, not painted. Does anyone know of any place that sells painted ones? Don't really wants to pay a ridiculous $75 or some similar amount to get it painted!

why don't you get a can of touch up paint and do it yourself? it can't be very hard...a couple coats...some wet sand..polish...and done!! Its good practice too!!!

Rez, I have some Alpine White that I will be touching up my front bumper with. I got a little too close to the curb. Shoot it to me and I'll spray it for you.

Let me start my 1st DIY micro project with this one. Now that my car has passed the warranty period I'm sure I'll have to take on more of such projects.

I'll surely shoot it your way, if I happen to screw up, tonyb635. THANK YOU!!!

No problem I will be spraying my bumper lower area next week and to include your piece would be no issue at all. If you are not successful or happy with your results, its possible that you will need to purchase another part. Trying to remove the paint etc without causing damage to the substrate or factory primer could be difficult and the paint in this case would have to be removed before applying automotive paint.

You can also just get the cover and call a few local shops that are doing work on an alpine white BMW, if they are spraying just slip the guy doing the work a 10 or 20 and he'll just do it for you along with the other parts he's spraying.
