I attached my iPhone via the regular iPhone USB cable, but when I try to select the source as USB instead of Aux In, when I click on it in iDrive, it never selects USB.
Anyone else had this issue, or am I doing something wrong?

I am not sure if the iPode cord that came with your iPod will work. I am sure that you need the 6 FL cable. BMW iPod USB Adapter Cable 6FL Part # 61 12 0 440 796 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-i...fAudioQ5fVideo
I see on on ebay or you can get it from your dealer.

FWIW I use one of my standard iphone connectors in my car and it works fine. I'm not sure if it's one that came with my iphone or one of the wall charger ones I bought but it's not a special part by any means.

Found this out on my wife's new SUV:
If the USB connection doesn't recognize the iPod/iPhone, perform a hard "reboot" - this will show the Apple logo on the device screen while it cycles on.
Hope this helps.
