520d LCI Oil Difference iDrive & Dipstick
I have just replaced my turbo and done a full service, all genuine parts and castrol edge 5/30.
My issue is this, when I have filled the stated 5.2L I get perfect registration on the dipstick manually, but when accessing the oil level through iDrive I get the to full yellow screen.
Does anyone else have this issue?
I am a little concerned something maybe wrong with my oilways as I could see no reason why the turbo should fail, the vehicle has only covered 76k.

You could drain the oil and measure how much came out. I very much doubt the dipstick could somehow be giving the wrong reading.

I know how much has gone in as I have just replaced the turbo so fresh oil in.
5.2l
I am curious whether the digital I drive is notorious for give false readings.
I even removed 400ml and still reads high. The interesting thing is that when you check on the I drive with the engine off oil level is fine and then key on with engine running to give a measured reading it's off the scale.
I cannot question the manual dipstick as this is a true reading, my main concern is there is possibly a blockage somewhere which is giving the unbalanced i drive reading.

After you change the oil, I remember reading somewhere you needed to drive like 10 miles or something like that before the iDrive was accurate. Also, if you've had this problem for a while, I'd go ahead and replace the oil level sensor.
