Hey, I've got one. How about switching between D and DS while driving constantly? For example, driving in D, switch to DS to pass cars, and back to D and multiply that by 30X.

Hi Forum,

I am too lazy to use manual mode but I tend to use DS when driving in the city or a road with "good profile" - meaning a lot of curves and ups and downs. This new auto tranny is quite nice, because it is registering all different parameters like bends and ups and downs and changing it's behavior accordingly.

Regards,

Jukka

I usually have the DSC on because that V-8 has a lot of torque and will get those tires spinning in no time, plus I have runflats so my profile would be gone in no time if I did it often.

I shift into DS a lot to cause a down-shift when entering a highway or before passing, its a great way of talking to your car and saying get ready.

I do switch to DS once in a while but the diesels works more with the torgue than hp,
so high rews are not needed.

An auto tranny can be damaged in many ways, including in your post re. shifting to neutral. Hard driving (hard launches, consistently high revs, etc...) will also obviously wear on the transmission, and if you consider this as "damage", then so be it.

As for your question about shifting at 700rpm above the normal shift point...no, the transmission will not be damaged if you manually shift at 4700 vs. the normal 4000 shift point in auto. In fact, if you have the SAT, it will hold the revs and shift at higher points than standard.

on a day to day drive there is no point driving in Manual.
The SB is very good in D mode so most of the time I just have D mode
But if I push the car hard then yes 100% manual DS mode not the +-
