How do you all think about the Ran Flat tyres?

For me, they did the job they were intended for...
Late at night with family in the car on a busy freeway, I ran over a 3/8 inch broken drill bit. I was able to drive the last 20 miles home without incident and deal with it in the morning.

Recently had my DunFlops replaced (FREE by stealership) with Goodyear Eagle NCT5 Runflats. So far, nice ride, great handling in dry and wet, not noisy.
Only issue was today when the tire pressure monitor indicated that I had a flat!! I checked the pressure in all tires (all OK), reset the system and continued with my trip. All seems ok.

I too once thought runflats were ok. When I went with 166's and had to switch to non-RF I realized how much RF suck and what I've been missing for over 1 yr. The runflats do what they are designed to do (get you home with a nail) but they were not supposed to steal the wonderful drive character of the car -and thats what I think they do - wooden shoes, noise and "flat" all the way  I've had one flat where I could not get home without changing the tire in the last twenty years- I'm not willing to trade performance for peace of mind for something that's such a rare occurance. JMO.
For all you non-believers, here is solid evidence that nothing can compare with the safety of the run flats. As some of you remember, in 2004, I split two wheels all the way completely in half longitudinally and came to a straight line stop without mishap. I have been a believer ever since. Here are the pictures of one of the wheels.
