How do you all think about the Ran Flat tyres?

I dont mind them either... I just mind how much they cost to replace! I'm still accepting free tires.

I don't mind them right now but I do look forward to 166's and PS2's when my run flats wear out..

No, I saw... That'll be caused by the runflat transmitting the force from the pothole (probably) to the rim rather than the tyre absorbing...

At first I thought the wife had hit the curb with the rims, however after reading these posts, I now wonder if the damage to the rim has been caused by rft, after maybe going over a pot hole.

The reason I say this is because it looks like the rim is chipped on the edge, could the rft do this to the rim ???

What I do not understand is why BMW would put a tire on a car that has a purpose for 0.01% of the time when someone gets a flat tire.

The other 99.99% of the time for every driver apparently must be spent not enjoying the car. I am glad that I do not have these things (I got the nonsport package and upgraded to #166 wheels).

I am trying to figure this one out. So you save the extra weight of the spare tire, but you need to listen to the extra noise all the time. Well, no car manufacturer is perfect!

The next day called BMW dealer. Guess what, none my size in stock ( not unusual from similar posts, they never seem to have them ). No local tyre dealers had any ( 18'', Dunlop ). I had to wait 6 hours for them to get one, at vast cost ( ?225 ). Give me proper tyres & a spare anyday.
I know someone who works at a BMW dealer, a lot of potential customers walk when told that the cars have RFTs. I'm in the market for a new car, I asked Lexus dealer about RFTs, they do not fit them due to ride quality problems they cause, right answer for me!.

I have them for almost a year. I think i can tolerate them until Nov. 2007 whem me lease is over (hello 550).
