Who Friggin cares! Geez! I consider people who drag race their cars morons. If you want to race, go to a race track and become a "real" race car driver. I have seen way too many accidents from street racing. It is a serious danger to others. Enjoy the BMW for what it is meant to do, drive very, very well. Take it out on the back roads, have some fun, but drive SAFE.

I'm just looking at the current 2/06 R&T summary which lists the time for the G35 Coupe tested in their 8/04 issue and the 545 Step in their 6/05 issue.
I'm looking at it too. Ooops. Got me again. I was looking at the Nissans.

Znod, it's not like you to miss such details. Your mind must still be on your CIP upgrade. just kidding.

You are right; CIP 20.01.00 has been quite a strain. I'll say the first one was an "understandable" error. But, the second? Oh well, I have been wondering for quite a while why I can never find any data on the G35. Apparently, I've had a long-term mental block on the G35.

I don't think we, on this forum, are into flaming; disrespecting others their opinions, or their foilbles; or being impolite. I do some ocassional street racing when it is safe enought IMO--which is not a justifiable reason for doing an irresponsible thing. But, I am not a moron nor do I like being referred to as one. What are your foibles? Do you talk on your cell phone while driving? Do you drive under the influence whether or not feeling the effects? Do you drive over the speed limit? You can tell the truth here. Most of us won't call you a moron. And, why are the back roads so safe? It's a matter of opinion and preference, right? But, if one disagrees with another, it doesn't make him or her a moron, right?

Yup totally agreed, I think we are all mature and responsible adults, but sometimes we just act like a kid behind the wheels Maybe the E60 make us feel young again.

Edit: Not that I am old, I am not even 30 yet.

The IS350 and 545i have about the same lbs/hp ratio. It should be a good race if the HP values are accurate.

G35 sedan? There's twin turbo kit for this car that boost up to 600+hp. for the cost of $7k$-8.5K. Wait for VF Engineering to complete the supercharger for the 545i. Then, you'll be in the M5 class and your friend's G35 will get smoked.

That's no fun. The only one's that are any fun are the one's you win because of stealth or because of the ignorance of the other driver, IMO. But, I am assuming, of course, that even the most ignorant will get vibes that an M5 ought not to be messed with.

But, OK, that kind of reasoning is not always good. A Chrysler 300 tried to take on the Z06 the other day. Since I don't have to worry about wheel spin, I did what I always do when safe--floor the Z06, move about a zillion lengths ahead by the end of first gear, and then coast. That's sort of fun because of the ignorance of the other driver. I don't think that doing what I do could be considered to be a street race because there is no race or at least it doesn't look like there is one. However, I agree that you do need an M5 or an "old" slow Z06 like mine.

Bah! Who cares? You're still IN a BMW, and he's still IN a Datsun with some fake wood tacked on.

Let's see who gets better treatment from the Valet.

Let's see who gets more looks from the ladies when you get out. (A LOT MORE than my buddy's MB!)

Let's see whose still excited about their daily commute after a couple of years of ownership.

At the end of the day, what really matters?
