The Infiniti G35 in the US is known as the Nissan Skyline outside the US. Not the infamous Skyline GT-R, but the regular Skyline (V35 generation I believe...

Same engine: 280hp for Automatic and 298hp for manual.
I remembered seeing a .5 sec or so difference between the performances of the coupe vs the sedan but I'm not 100% sure. I could be wrong.
The last test of a 280hp G35 Coupe Aug 2004 from Road & Track has it at 5.9 secs...while the same magazine has a Steptronic 545 at 5.2.

"At 3520 pounds, the G35 ranks among the lightest here. ... It also runs with the faster crowd, the 3.5-liter VQ V-6 now good for 298 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Launch at a lazy 3500 rpm, and it'll do 5.9-second sprints to 60 mph."
C&D didn't publish the full performance test online. That's all of significance I can find online quickly.

if that is the case...Then please do explain how a G35 handed your balls on a silver plate? If turns at high speeds were involved...Then you would and should have won..If it was a straight away and for somone reason you have a great deal of weight resistance that maybe a factor...Besides that driving method might be the case?

Have not encountered one in my 545i, but I seriously smoked one in my E39 M5
. When we got to the next light he stayed back a couple of car length's
My impression is most G35 drivers in my neck of the woods fancy themselves, but again have not had a chance to "dice" in my E60!
Cheers,

I'm just looking at the current 2/06 R&T summary which lists the time for the G35 Coupe tested in their 8/04 issue and the 545 Step in their 6/05 issue.

The original poster stated that not only was this G35 able to beat him to 60, but up to 110mph too.
There's just no way a stock G35 would be able to walk from a 545 at high speed given the 545's torque. Up to 60mph I can imagine it being close, but past 100mph, no way.
The original poster is in Staten Island? Tell ya what, I'll bring my car out to Shaolin to meet your friend's G35 and we can settle this...
Or better yet, have him meet me on the OP in Long Island. We'll make the run up to 150mph.

No is a V6, the same V6 that Nissan uses on almost every car they make.
