The last time we went Melaka the roads leading to the town is a bit too far for my liking. Perhaps we should just gun for the big rest stop that someone had suggested before, I cant remember where now. Is that the SK2 guy that mentioned before?

And my preference is to start at a later time say around 8.30

You referring to Machap?

I agree the timing might be a wee bit early for some, but we should also bear in mind that this is gonna be the start of a long weekend and many others will be gunning for the N/S highway for other destinations too. Should we meet at 0830, we might get caught up with the crowd and still be in the queue clearing customs at 1000hr..... just a thought.

hi guys,

have not posted for a while

got an idrive controller from Richard (SLK33) - but was told by Ah Bao that my idrive interface is the older version & will not work with the idrive controller - would be nice to use the controller to switch the interface's video source without using the remotes...
Hi Doc,

welcome back (myself too.. both of us had been missing since we did the house moves)...

The iDrive controller works great and I am getting Ah Bao to install front view camera next week as well... You can consider upgrading the VI? But don't get the V7 which we got during my last trip to Seoul. Get the V5 which Yankee got....

Let's go somewhere different this time. Getting a little bored with Melaka.
I agree with Ed that we should be early. Good Friday is not any other Sunday. we will be caught in a jam if we start off late.
In fact the jam always starts very early on the 1st day of a long weekend, as early as 6am.....

Precisely that is my point. The reason why we want to start early is to avoid jam, if we expect the Good Friday weekend's jam to start early, do we still need to be so early? We will get stucked anyway. I am fine with any destination as long as it is not too far away from the NS Highway.

Thats why I'd rather get stuck early than to get even "more stuck" later. Then the trip will be fruitless if we can't drive in a convoy. Weaving in and out of buses and trucks is not my idea of a peaceful drive. My foot would be happier buried on the gas pedal than on the brakes.

That makes more sense Russo. We are talking about avoiding trucks and buses, rather than being stucked in the causeway. I got your point, and I am convinced we need to leave early.

Guys, my pal, the Maseratiman is quite familiar with Malacca and he says if we wanna go there, he knows of some good eating places other than chicken riceballs

Any feedback?

Russo, I didn't see your nick added to the list.......
