Hi all,

Sorry to break the train of thought.

I've recently been considering getting an E60 530i and have been quoted
242k for the standard vehicle. I'm also thinking of the following options as well - sunroof (S$5013), through loading (S$2004) and Bluethooth (S$1626).

Total cost of options and vehicle comes to 250.6k (242.0k+8.6k).

A couple of questions if you don't mind -
1. Is this a reasonable deal from PML and if not, how should I approach the co. to get a better deal?

2. I've been informed that the "2007" model year production will only begin in November. So should I wait till then before ordering the vehicle?

3. Since July and August will be the "Hungry ghost" month - at which time I presume that there could be a seasonal drop in sales - would that be a better time to negotiate?

Thanks for reading this and also for any replies.

Cheers,

SB
Hi Bengster,
This is Sengster.

The bluetooth price seem to be at list price if my memory serve me right. I bought it just a few months ago. Normally, we can get a 10% off. For your case it might be more since you are buying as a package.

To help us gauge your price competitiveness... give us a list of your specs... does it come with HUD, AFS, GPS, Comfort Seats etc?

Have you considered checking the price difference with a PI?

Guys, back to Nuvi... I got my second Nuvi last night...this time I ordered a 310 thinking that one set of Europe map is sufficient and I want it more as a MalSingMap device and the cool Bluetooth...

But I was WRONG. Nuvi 310 does not have TTS. I tot everyone insisted the two Nuvis are exactly the same??

I even copied all the TTS voice files (e.g. the Australian accent ones) to 310 from 360... but it didn't work as it simply does not recognise these files even after multiple resets.... strange....

Would updating the 310 with the 360's v2.40 firmware be able to "trick" it?

Prof lmk?

BZSAB (The man with 15 birdies and counting)... your 310 has TTS? No?

no, 310 lacks TTS.
the only function that is missing.
If you take a look at the memory bank btw them, you notice the 360 has a much higher memory.

I was in the back seat of an Alpine F1 Status set-up. The sound is another category of mine. If possible, get a ride that allows you to change head unit. Come this July, that car will be up for a local IASCA competition.
Zag and Tategoi,

http://www.caraudiomag.com/testreports/051...h990_head_unit/

this is what i meant and tell installers (especially those freaks out there) there is a big difference in sound reproduction between road and static tuning. As most installer tune the cabin with the car static, with this the rumble and hum does not affect the tuning at all. Once you set on the road, the rumbles and hums from tire noise will surface. This resonates and cancels low frequencies. Therefore it will not be accurate in drive mode.
Alpine F1 came out with this automatic tuning with both static and road!!!! my dream comes true finally.

Also, to alot of installers who lacks the knowledge of electronics engineering, they simply ignore the distortion at low freqs. As most of the specs are at 14.4volts and not 12 volts, the distortion is at its best at 12V! When the car engine is running, the voltage goes back up to 14.4V. Therefore tuning needs alot of skills and trial and error. Alpine F1 takes care of that in Auto mode.

Hmm...if i can, slam in the F1 head unit, control unit with my dream amp and speakers (not Alpine) that will be cool!
