Just noticed that my rear electric blinds sits in the middle of my rear board where the 4" speakers are mounted. Does that mean that I'm not going to be able to fit in my 10" or 12" subwoofer? :'(
Will I have to get rid of the electric blind in order to fit a subwoofer? Can anyone tell me my options?

with this in place, you need not cut a 10" hole but a nominal 5" will do.
it will not hinder the blinds.

Zag,
are you trying to pull me in too?
i am out of many things AM (after marriage).
OK, since you started it now, i open this for discussion.
For money can buy now. i wish to have the following for my ride. I am not going for extreme high end but sound that i wish to have:
1. Luxman CM20000 power amp x2 to drive front main speakers (for muscial clarity)
2. JBL 6000 GTI to drive 2 subwoofers (class D or even T for absolute bass driving)
3. front speakers MB quart Q216 series (cusotm hand made, not the off the shelf model) for superb imaging and clarity.
4. Phass Alnico magnet component speaker set for the rear and centre speaker. perfect for classical music and vocals.
5. ADS competion 346ci for field effect speakers. proven and still the best.
6. Cerwin Vega Pro15 if not, (2 units) ..what else thump better than a CV?
7. Soundstream xxx15
8. Rockford fosgate 3sixty sound processor (CES winner, wanted to try it out) comes with more than 275 eq settings with DSP. Self flat response tuning eq and bluetooth for easy tuning via a palm PDA.
9. Alpine VPA B222 hub processor. plug eveything into this and control through one hub.
10. Rockford fosgate power1000 to drive the field effects. A technology marvel.
i leave out head unit and others out, as most of the time, in a BM, we cannot change much.
of course, we can talk about cables and capacitor and low loss inductors later.
enough to chew and digest?

RSLK,
You look at Ed picture above. The body piece that surround his number plate is an additional piece of bodykit I am referring to. If you check with your E60, there is nothing surrounding the number plate.
By adding this piece, your boot key hole will be covered. My initial thought was that the boot release level will also be covered but it look like it is not the case, right, Zag?
So it this case, installing the boot release button (see Bugaboo pic) is optional.

when you mount your subs, you need a layer of 3/4" mdf board to mount onto the panel first.
with this in place, you need not cut a 10" hole but a nominal 5" will do.
it will not hinder the blinds.

You can still instll the subs, but it will rattle when the bass kicks in. Hopefully that good installer had come out with a solution. Mine does not come with the blinds.
lmk, do you have a rattling blind problem?

Hi all,
Sorry to break the train of thought.
I've recently been considering getting an E60 530i and have been quoted
242k for the standard vehicle. I'm also thinking of the following options as well - sunroof (S$5013), through loading (S$2004) and Bluethooth (S$1626).
Total cost of options and vehicle comes to 250.6k (242.0k+8.6k).
A couple of questions if you don't mind -
1. Is this a reasonable deal from PML and if not, how should I approach the co. to get a better deal?
2. I've been informed that the "2007" model year production will only begin in November. So should I wait till then before ordering the vehicle?
3. Since July and August will be the "Hungry ghost" month - at which time I presume that there could be a seasonal drop in sales - would that be a better time to negotiate?
Thanks for reading this and also for any replies.
Cheers,
SB

like tategoi, i also do not have blinds in my E60. With som e clever eq, you can avoid this issue.

I was in the back seat of an Alpine F1 Status set-up. The sound is another category of mine. If possible, get a ride that allows you to change head unit. Come this July, that car will be up for a local IASCA competition.
This setup needs alot of sound proofing and alot of extras. the head unit is mind boogling liao.
BUt once you get into the rest of the exhibits.....you are lost and confused liao.
then you need more time to select components all over.
Personal opinion, i would avoid Alpine powwer amp and Speakers...
