He also mentioned that his company is more confident in MB cars than BM because of the higher volume they do per year.
That's quite true. Have you notice there are many MB P.Is but very few for BM. There must be a reason and somehow the P.I feel comfortable bringing in MB than BM. Maybe it's the margin or maybe they worry they might have a problem in providing a good aftersales service for BM? It's seem that for MB, there are a few workshops outside that can handle MB beside C & C.

I am not sure about Vincar but my last MB was P.I. servicing was carried out by a workshop outside. The technicians were mostly ex C & C staff and I must say that their knowledge was quite good. They even claimed for me one complete ABS block which was leaking after 4 months. I can see that some of the seniors were trained in MB factory in Germany and they have all the diagnostics tools. Most of the cars that went there for servicing were MBs including many SL.

I guess this could be one of the reason why P.I prefer MB and that is if C & C make thing difficult for them, at least they have someone to fall back to.

Bugaboo... your dream Porsche Cayenne 3.2 V6 specs and price are here:

Metallic Paint $3524
Full leather seats $11601
Tiptronic S $11000
Parkassist front & rear $3329
BiXenons with Cornering $4871
19" Cayenne Sport Design Rim/Wheels $12629
Aluminium Pack $3182
Servotronic $1077
Cruise Control $1713
Drivers Memory Package $1322
6-disc CD Changer $2154
Multi function steering wheel $2154

All option prices are in SGD and factory fitted, totalling S$58,556.

To get this from Stuttgart would put u back by S$297,444 and they are known not to move on pricing, I recalled you even need to pay for the COE yourself... which is another $10K or so...

Your price with "you know who" is around S$268,888... before negotiations.... (I would press for the old price of S$258K as the EUR vs SGD didn't increase over the last 1 year... it had in fact gone down!)...
Wow, very detailed breakdown, I wish I could get the same information for VW R32. I suspect its the same 3.2L engine.

I went back to the guy today and checked the pricing of the GTI. They do not bring in the 3-door. For the 4-door, their pricing is not much lower than the agent here @ SGD 114888.00. Very mist he can discount me is SGD 1000.00. I asked him about buying cash and he said I MUST top up some money as the prices quoted are subject to loan. Not much of an advantage here. I'm gonna write to the exporter in Europe to find out how much I may save.

During braking, the front of the vehicle does the majority of the work. Exactly how much is influenced by the vehicle's weight distribution, wheelbase, and center of gravity height. Therefore, the front disc is usually bigger.

Brakes is an important part of a car, how well a car brakes and may even save lives depending how a good system is. But too much braking force may make you feel like driving a jerking car. Just a minimum tap on the brake pedal, your car just glue to the road and halt. Unless you track or drives at extereme speeds with a very powerful enigne, personally, i think it is not necessary. Stock is good enough.
Of course, cosmetics is another theory altogether.
You can check out www.brembo.com or www.apracing.com for more info.
I don't totally agreed to that sentence bro.....

For tracking in Sepang....BBKs are really amazing! Most guys on stock brakes need to 'rest' their cars after 4~5 hot laps.
I went 8~10 hot laps & my BBKs were hold up as good as the 1st lap. Only my tires were losing grip due to overheating.

For daily driving in Singapore.....U'll never know which ARSEHOLE will suddenly do a lane change to your lane w/o signalling & when you're accelerating on 3rd gear towards 100+km/h.....

I had too many 'encounters' with my E46 when I was on 'Stock' brakes.....after installaing BBKs.....I'll always have BBKs..... hehe

You should take my E60 for a spin & test out my Brembos!! They can feel like stock & can brake like hell when you really need to! Never like a 'tap' & the car comes to a complete stop killing your rear passengers......

Cheers

BZSAB,

did you managed to find an entry level sound system for your E60? I sat in Bugaboo's ride yday when we trouped down to Vincar in 5 E60s...led by Edlee's 545iA...I kinda feel our stock sound system is really crappy...

Let me know your research results... I too wanna do something but don't want to sacrifice bootspace too much... budget maybe $2K or so...

Still in research stage. I spoke to Ah Boa and he will be comming back with proposal. He seems quite confident to improve our ICE at that budget. I am pretty sure the budget we offered cannot come close to the ICE in LMK, Bugs, or Nuvi360's but its a matter of managing your (our) expectations. With 3 noisy kids and a nagging wife, my ears are shot anyway :'(
