I tried sending 3 mails to Garmin regarding the "unlocking of SD map to 2 Garmin devices"... they didn't bother to respond to me...

According to Patrick of Navicom, this can no longer be done on those with SDs... as the card itself is locked and not device specific... in the past when Garmin issue CDRoms, it was unlocked to the device main-memory...and therefore can tag to the device serial number...

Garmin should learn not to make their devices too "proprietary"... and should in fact support Public Domain mapping efforts such as the MalSingMaps...

I same across a link for a Taiwanese version of Nuvi... the main differences is that it can display Chinese characters and TTS in Mandarin, Hokkien, Hakka and other local dialects...

I know that all the TTS files are copyable in the main Nuvi memory.. only problem is that ours only come with the European variant...

Any one who knows someone who has the Taiwanese Nuvi can help to ask for a copy of those Asian TTS voice files?

RSLK and TCC39,

Need your help to confirm something.
when i insert my SD card into the Nuvi, i noticed that there is a click at the top of the slot.
i suspect that there is a nudge which can recognise a Garmin Sd from the rest.
Can you compare a regular SD card and a garmin card? Physically any differences?

On the other hand, there are some softwares in the internet that can read protected memory cards, this way, there may be a crack.

have you tried the Knock off sets from China, from Callaways , taylor made to Ping all.... at 200usd for full set. most of my ang mo friends tried it and they like it and ended up buying more. Only a couple of them had broke them especially the driver. We took it back for exchange and they changed it without question...lifetime warranty leh!
The guy that sells told us that they are the OEM mfg for these brands...
Yes, I bought an S-Yard set in Shanghai in one of the building called Shanghai Mart of something like that. Remember paying around USD200 which includes full set of iron, 2 ball putter, driver , 3 & 5 woods and golf bag plus boston bag..crazy right? In this place, you can find almost any brand or latest model you want (in China, I think they don't know what is I.P).

IMFO, the irons are not bad but not the driver. I add in one of my own driver and put this set in my office in BKK so that whenever I visit BKK, I don't have to bring my golf set.

Secure Digital (SD) card is designed specifically for the distribution of copyrighted digital information, including audio, images and video. Security for the SD card is based on the 4C Content Protection for Recordable Media (CPRM) standard used widely in the consumer electronics industry. The security technology built into the SD card complies with all three levels of Secure Digital Music Initiative (SDMI) security requirements. Reading and writing (in protected areas) is permitted by the SD card's control circuitry when appropriate external devices are detected.

coming soon....how to crack...

LMK, appreciate your advice. Note that I am really not into Hi-Fidelity and all I want is "decent" sound with Bass, Mid and Treble. Do I really ne the 12" sub and 6" mids? Based on what Ah Boa told me, 10" sub in the trunk may already be too big; I need trunk to accomodate at least 2 good sized golf bags. He did however, suggest a lower profile sub.

ha ha thats what i thought at first before i did my ice.
