I realised that too! In the past 12 yrs... the only mod I ever did to my previous 3 cars were changing tires (cos they were worn out)...

After joining this group, I am already into iPod Video, TV Tuner, Reverse Camera, GPS... its scary...
hey guys!

it's normal - we are all after some thrill & spills

so since wife cannot change & cannot mod
so either change car or mod car to settle the itch

Hey doc, I am thinking of operating my ashtray to hide my Universal Dock too! Did they really have to hack the plastic mould in the ash tray? If the Dock is not there, can you still insert the Ash Tray Cup? Juz curious!
Bzsab,

i shall have to take a pic of the part to show you
no way back brother...

I was an observer throughout the Op....Those 2 guys were real pros and they know what they were doing....

Doc... how did you managed to solve the AV cable issue? Was it via a S-Video to AV convertor? Did they have it or do I need to buy myself? Cos I too dun wanna sacrifice my iPod AV Cable for this cause...

The camera was amazing... it didn't even have those IR nodes... wonder how they managed to see so clearly in the dark...

How did the TV Tuner went? Can see the usual free to air channels such as CNA, 5, 8 etc?
you need to provide av cable - i drove like a mad man in my little a class to wheelock applecentre to get one

yes - the free channels are there
cannot drive faster than 80kmh - tv becomes jerky - even with twin antennae
wife is happy with this "feature"

and btw: if watching video or photo slideshow from ipod - no tv - tv tuner must be OFF

Oops... maybe I got it mixed up... someone told me (tot it was you? maybe its Bugaboo)... to remind Ah Boa to bring a longer antenna cable cos the TV Tuner has 2 antenna? So one can be placed at the rear boot area to increase the reception...
33, it was me who told you about the longer antenna cable. Currently my second antenna is mounted on the front windscreen. Trust me, not a good place because of 2 reasons. 1) Was told that reception can be improved if 2nd antenna is mounted under front of the car, 2) Metal antenna against glass tend to rattle at some speed; damn irritating.

Doc... watch what you say in public; especially about the big boss ! You never know whos listening :'( .! Trust you are enjoying your A/V in the ride.

Group buy for Garmin maps, count me in! Are we able to share maps like what 33 suggested? tcc39, since you have contact with the Garmin guy here, can you please take this opportunity to obtain conclusive answers to these questions?

1. If we buy original maps, do we get periodical updates?
2. Are we able to share maps? If so, are there any limitations?
3. Where can we buy Nuvi accessories here in Singapore?
4. What's Nuvi stand on the use of MalSing or other non-Garmin maps?
Guys,

Patrick from Navicomm just called me. He quoted me Garmin Sing/J.B maps S$300 based on 3 or 4 pcs.
He say internet price is USD250 (is this true?). He have no idea when Garmin Sing/Mal will be ready though target is end of the year. No ideal about the price as well as price is set by the software company who produce the map. No ideal about the price of upgrade to Sing/Mal in future but estimate it will be half the cost of Sing/J.B.
Seems like update is not frequent, he say maybe once a year.

The map will come in a S.D card so cannot be shared. Regarding accessories, must tell him what we need.

We can discuss during the GTG.
