How do you know the mileage of your fuel tank? You need to drive till its empty to know that, don't you?
This is what I normally do. I reset my journey meter to zero after filling full tank. When my car is almost empty tank, I take down the mileage of the entire journey (say 500km) before filling up a new tank. Now from the petrol receipt, you can check how much petrol you have pump in for this new tank (for my case, normally 61~62 litre. So the FC is say 62 litre is 500km/62 or 8.06 km/l. You repeat this for a few times and average your FC.

It is better to know exactly how much fuel is being pumped because it's difficult to define "full tank".

Talking about AM, i am surrounded by AM daily too....this month, all AM in Germany are busy with World Cup....from CEO to low ranks....

Agree with TCC, pressurise him is the way to go.
Spread this email out to all BMW forums, send this email string to the HQ.
Make him answer for that follow up and force him to give you an answer on what is next.

My good friend in Garmany can help too if needed.
Last resort....use Chinese Kung Fu....uh....unless you know how.
Leslie,

I just called Patrick again regarding the Nuvi thing. He seems to be very busy because of the exhibition and can only get back to me next week. From conversation, it seems that it's quite difficult to get a discount for 3 or 4 maps as he told me the qty is too small. Shall follow up on this next week.

Take note that most AMs in Europe are half working now because of the World Cup. Come another month, they will be a month long Summer holiday in most EC. Then in September, many German will get drunk because of October fest (their October fest starts in September). Si Bei good life!!

Fellow Senior Member tcc39, thanks for following up! By the way, do you know which part of Europe is Patrick from. I am scheduled for a trip to Denmark and Germany sometime in August. If they are near these two countries, maybe I deal with them there.

Hey guys! Juz an update on the thef in my ride. Apparently our friendly neighborhood police have apprehended the 3 boys. However, I, including my neighbors, are still doubtful of recovering our properties.

I used to deal with all these AM daily too. In fact I am still dealing with them, though not face to face. I agree with you guys; when it comes to something they want, they never take no for an answer. However, when its the other way around, then sorry, you've gotta wait.

Oh yes, I know you guys wouldn't believe me, but I used to spot a six pack - when I was 20; now its one huge basketball!!! Ha...ha...ha...

ed, why don't you get torsten to set up a video conference call with the so called M division lead engineer and hear from him first hand their assessment. These M division should be passionate about their babies they put on the road as they are not meant for mass market. It sounds atypical for such prestige division to brush off customer like that if the problem is genuine.
pml/bmw asia should fly an M engineer down to look at your car in person that is what the premuim are for when you pay for the ride.
i would get on the phone with Roland Kruger too if i were you. have you?

Leslie,

Let's not try out-rank each other. I take a look at the ranking system and almost laugh my head off. You tot senior member sound very senior right. People like Tategoi is a veteran member and higher up like LMK is an Elite members. Our big bro Ed is a Specialist!! I wonder what's next after a Specialist.

So a senior is actually like a Private in the army (luckily we are not a recruit). By the time we become say an Elite Members, most of our wing flaps gangs will already be either Specialist or Scientist or maybe Nobel prize winner!!

So let's be good boys and take instruction..o.k?

Cheers!!!

hahaha... don't read too much into your watcher's rank this could also mean these...

my take... just for fun no offence to members intended

member: warming up getting to know to the in and out of the forum and forumers
senior member: mingled in... pretty much know what is going on and what are the do and don't behaviour of the forum
veteran: established forumers; know pretty much who is who here.. average posting 1 every other day
elite: ditto.. more than above - more than 1 post per day
specialist: ditto can't stay away - starting the trend of addict- eat sleep thinking about e60 forum
addict: wow.. this one sure need to get a life

hehehehe.... who wanna race to the addict level?

ok...ok .. so is the invite to the saturday meet up still on? will the SLK be making a presence?

once locked, cannot open.

you need to use 2 full tanks to do it.
fill it up to full, drive till near to empty.
Note your mileage.
fill it up again.
Note the litres of gas filled.
divide KM by litres,
you got the mileage lor....juz maths....hehe!
Dennis said the fuel cap can only be locked by remote, our console central locking is only meant to lock all doors and boot. He pointed to page 27 of the manual, I don't have the manual with me now, so can't verify.

A couple of months ago I checked on cars at Russo's shop, fuel caps cannot be opened once the central locking is deployed. Dennis said perhaps all cars got problem except my car. He claimed he checked with cars in the workshop, all the fuel cap can be opened when the central locking is used.

It is a safety issue for me given that on many occasions when I was at petrol kiosks, before I off my engine and unlock the doors, the attendant had already opened the fuel cap while the engine is running.

...

The above maths only show the fuel consumption based on distance travelled and fuel consumed, but not the total mileage for one full tank. Thats why I said unless you travel till the fuel goes empty, you can only estimate your one tank mileage
