That's why I make a point to keep the key in the pocket when I go to the boot. Even then I nearly did it once... I even throw the key into a bin together with some junks in my hands. And I was at a rest place somewhere along the NS highway!

I am very clumsy. I used to carry it in my wallet until it dropped out. I had to go to PML to disable the key. At that time, I was parking my car daily in a queenstown area where a friend of mine lost a 330ci. I was afraid I lost the key there.

A few months later, the key surfaced in a paper bag below the place where I kept my wallet at home. Phew ... Since then I have decided to keep it at home.

When I drive up north, the other key is automatically carried ... with my wife. Well, 90% of the time anyway.

And Singapore is not that big, so I will take my chance and SOS home if really necessary.

The reason I want to activate this feature is to ensure my car is locked; in case I forgot to lock it. If the feature is like what you said, then I see no advantage for me.

Yup, better not turn this feature as I read somewhere in this forum that someone who got his E60 <1 night old had locked itself and needed a locksmith to open it... luckily for him, PML took care of the $200 costs but he had a most unpleasant experience and 2 wasted hours...

Sounds like 2-factor authentication?
