Err... I'm already using GPSProxy 2.2. Read somewhere that the problem could be related to the SD card that I'm using. Maybe I'll install the software on the Pocket PC's main memory.

Most people I know go to Mike Sim Wee Chuan. Prices wise not much lower if you compare it against buying the parts direct from PML (with 25% discount in May/June) and getting them sprayed at your favourite workshop. I have never dealt with Mike, but you may give him a call at 91074888 to find out more. Perhpas some guys here can give you feedback on Mike's workmanship.

And regarding your M135, are they original? Where did you buy them from?

aiya, there are always total losts in electronics.
you can sell it in malsingmaps bazaar, there are some guys looking for it.
My head rules over my heart this time. A good friend told me life is short, but getting the new N ain't gonna make my life longer. I will stay faithful with my 60CS until I managed to get a power out at the dash to connect it permanently. BTW pre-owned market price of 60CS is around 300+.

Just a summary (which I gathered from various web sources and experienced GPS users like Amethyst and lmk...

Garmin Nuvi 300 = 350... i.e. the old version which does not have Bluetooth (for use as speaker phone)...
Whilst the original set does not have TTS (Text to Speech), the latest firmware upgrade (v3.2) seems to have solved the issue. The 300 is meant for single country map (e.g. UK and Ireland) and the 350 is mean for regional map (e.g. Europe). The compression method used for the preloaded maps are different, i.e. it does not mean it contacts the summation of all the individual country maps to form a region. From a cost perspective, it would be cheaper to get the regional map version. The same 350 can be sold in USA or UK, and the former will contain North American map (incl Puerto Rico), and the latter will contact the Europe map. It really depends on which retailer you got it from. i.e. the model number is the same but the map is different. For Singapore, we should try to get the Europe/UK version as it will not have the annoying "State selection" included in the GUI for USA version.

Garmin Nuvi 310 = 360... explanation the same as above in terms of differences and of course it has Bluetooth to enable connectivity with mobile phones. The 310 has 200mb of internal memory and 360 has 700mb of internal memory. This allows the SD card to be used purely as expansion memory... such as extra maps or pictures and mp3. Once connected via the USB cable, both internal and SD memory can be accessed as a singular storage device.

The price difference on Expansys is about S$350 between the 310 and 360. What you get is extra internal memory and the regional Europe map vs UK/Ireland-only maps. Singapore/JB maps still need to buy... and hope someone can find out the cheapest source as well as upgrade procedures... foreign sites were selling the Garmin City Navigator SD for Sing/Mal for USD229-279.

The usual disclaimer applies.....

Guys, need some quick help.... I might be able to return the Tibo afterall (minus some transaction fees)... but I have in my usual haste...done the internal wiring to draw power from the vehicle ignition and ran the external antenna along the front side pillar.

Question: Should I keep the antenna (since I have paid a total of S$80 to have it wired up)... and is the connector universally usable on other GPSr? What about the 12V power cable which I have it wired? Would it work on the Nuvi? i.e. if the connector head is different, can I just cut the old one and replace or I have to change the WHOLE wire and spend another $80?

Thanks!
