i think the idrive controller allows you to change video input, without using the remote control.
curious to see it work.
Really? That's cool! have anyone in this forum installed the iDrive controller? I'm curious to see how it works too.

I was going to Selangor Turf Club and Garmin suggested I exit at Jahir(?) Highway, and the distance to next destination was 175Km. As I travel along the NS, the distance never reduced. All along it was showing the same waypoint, ie. the exit at Jahir

Speed traps....what icons represent the speed traps?

I went to Perfect Watch this afternoon, the Nuvi 300 (350?) looks damned sleek man, the touch screen is very nice, and the sound is polyphonics, unlike my CS60 that beeps like an old GH688. It comes with Europe/UK and Sin/JB maps. I was told we can still use Malsing maps, but they have to be stored in a new memory card. For English you have he option of choosing British or American, but the navigator will not say out the road name leh. Yes, I saw the HDB blocks.

Its about $1.5k after 10 pct discount. You save S$400 if mail order from US, but you get US maps. Are you willing to pay that extra $400 for original Singapore Garmin map and local warranty? If yes please act fast as there are only 2 units left.
1. 175km, this maybe due to the CS60 or the map itself. i drove up north using the map before, i did not experience this. i use my que though.

2. i will try to do a screen capture, i do not have it now.

3. Yes, the Nuvi is really cool. i like it very much too. think about the extra map for europe.sin.mal, it is quite worth the price, because the europe map more expensive than USA maps. for those who need only nuvi300, i think it is a good buy.

Went thru the Garmin Product page and indeed, the Nuvi 300 will not say out the road name. Only the Nuvi 350 has this option. Personally think this is a good thing to have. Btw, is Text-Speech a user enabled function or is it Always ON? Would be good if we are able to turn the Speech on and off. Otherwise, like some bro here said, it can be quite a nuisance.

Btw, anyone of you guys going for today's Kallang GTG? Sky is opening up now at the East!

it clearly shows that text speech is in nuvi. but i think the latest firmware update allows this in the 300.
Not sure as the update is only available recently.

My 60CS does not come with external memory slot, I will just upload the map direct into the GPSr. Does C320 only accept external power source? We can do a swap if I am travelling up north
tategoi,

you may need to re-install the software.

Do you know why BMW decided not to include an open boot button in the car?
The "remote boot release button" is available on most of the new 523 and above since Q405.... for those of us having the older production models, we can get it retrofitted for S$426.84 nett....

The button position is the empty crater just below the bonnet release lever....

Guys, I am going down on Monday morning to get the CIP v 21 installed... anything I should let Mr Koh Guan Lee know?

E.g. can I program my side mirror to automatically close upon locking the car and automaticaly open upon driving off?

Any other cool features in CIP v21?

If my Radio/CD Player is not "Professional" or "Business"... does it mean no MP3 no matter how updated is the CIP? I read elsewhere in the main E60 forum that someone managed to load some 800+ songs on a DVD in MP3 format and includes all the song titles etc... when playing on the "Business Radio" on their E60...

Oh... my cigarette lighter socket ALWAYS gives me problems, have replaced it 2x already... the problem is when you plug it something and attempt to pull it out... the whole socket comes lose... does anyone else have this problem? It seems like a design fault...

Thanks!

Shall we seriously consider shipping a Z4 or even X5 from the Spartanburg, South Carolina, USA factory to Singapore in bulk? This would save us costs in freight and paper work... and allow us to negotiate a warranty package with BMWAsia....

But how do we deal with the loan portion... assuming we need to take some loan??? I guess we should at least aim to have enough $$$ to pay for the OMV portion... and take a local bank loan for the ARF, Customs and COE portion, which should be roughly 60-65%?

Let's discuss in greater detail:

My preferred order:

2006 Z4 3.0si, Sapphire Black with Red Leather Interiors, Sports and Premium package, Bi-Xenon, mixed wheels style 202 (225/40/R18+255/35/R18), Steptronic+Paddle Shifts, Logic 7 and iPod Interface. And of course... RHD.... (Do they have Wing Flaps for Z4?)
