Guys, regarding the Garmin Nuvi 360 GPS w/Bluetooth... its available from Amazon at USD899.99 and will ship on June 1st. However the map given would be the USA one... wd that be a problem? Can the existing SDs from the C320 fit? Can this be "copied"? The converted amount before shipping should be ard S$1400.

Perfect Watch is trying to sell the Nuvi 300 at S$1512...

But there is a catch... Amazon refuse to send this to a non USA address as Garmin apparently only wants this to be made available domestically...

Assuming we are happy to void the warranty.... we can bulk purchase it and have it routed to a USA address and have it rerouted to SGP?

Any other way we can get this done?
You can always route to vpost usa, and use singpost to send it back to Singapore.

Sorry to correct myself. The output should be from S-video. This can be easily connected to the composite input at the video i/f. If the output is composite then it would be rather bad.
S video does improve alot, but personally i am still not satisfied with the display. That is why i tried out the motorised lcd. a true VGA is still the best with touch screen.
I took it out last week before i send my ride into PML because i do not wish them to blame me for electronics mod and void the warranty. Till now, still can't find a suitable time to re-install it back to the console.

Does anyone know if we can import our own BMW? I got sick of waiting for the news on the Z4 from PML and wanted to import it myself from Spartanburg, South Carolina... especially since the USD is at a all time low of 1.57xx....

Heard that Ed is in freightforwarding business.... would he have some lobangs?
LHD?

No lah.... All Z4s and X5s are manufactured at Spartanburg, USA.... so they have to make both LHD and RHD....

Just worried about the warranty...in the event of a lemon.... the price would be v v cheap...

The 3.0si model is on sale at USD36,000 or SGD57,000.

Add: ARF of 110%, COE of $12K, GST etc would come to SGD135,000 before freight charges....

PML likely to sell it at S$225,000 (assuming the old 3.0 price is unchanged)....

Don't think there is a lobang... cos the LTA would earn the full 110% ARF and GST and also COE...

The OMV is basically the cost of the car from the manufacturer + freight charges....

Question is would BMWAsia be willing to give the warranty ... of the basic 2 years (3rd year is given by PML).... Also...BMWAsia doesn't really have a workshop... so I guess we still go to PML? ( )

This shows how much the "exclusive distributor" earns... between 50-70k on a typical 200+K car... and to think that we suffer the service lapse...

hmm... i think its worth to forgo the warranty and pay for any repairs if it means that kind of savings. 70K leh. keep 30K for "warranty related repairs" and you're still up 40K.

i guess resale value is a problem.
