You bet!!! However, I think she'll not fit well into the position. If she ever does get appointed, she'll not be there for long; mark my words. She'll probably get sabotaged from within.
I think someone with more experience from another dealership will fill the shoes better.

BTW, I was in port again today - Pasir Panjang - and saw at least 150 brand new E90s parked there!!! What a sight!!! Is PML really doing that well? Such a growth in BMW population will again raise questions; do they have enough capable people to handle repairs, maintenance and complaints?

How many responsible Singaporeans want to become mechanics and technicians? There is only one solution; import from third world countries, and you know how BAD some of these people are!!! I am currently renovating my new house. I had many contractors doing different jobs come and go. However, I must give a special mention to those Malaysian guys who came on their Malaysian registered two wheelers. They just couldn't care less!!! Everyone else managed to keep my place nice and tidy. Those clowns came and dirtied my internal walls, knocked and damaged my car porch roof with their ladder, conveniently used my lawn as a rubbish bin for their packet lunch and as an ash tray; only heaven knows what they did in my toilet. I was at the house just before they knocked off and they were creating such a racket shouting to one another and singing!!! As usual, the contractor who hired them got a chunk of my mind!!!

So, guess what these guys might be doing in your fanciful cars!!

You are right. Actually, we should count ourselves pretty lucky to be in Singapore, and at least the standards are probably set higher than other neibouring countries. However, we have still a long way to go in strectching service and quality standards, more so in Singapore where car ownership so damned expensive!

I think if car dealers, especially from premium segment, carve their niche in putting in place world class mechanics and technicians and market it like the way SIA market their Singapore Girls, it may just help sell alot more cars.

Just imagine the common issues of rattling or squeaking noises that we hear all too often in our rides, if only PML has this highly skilled technician with a trained sensitive ears and intimate knowledge of the car and comb through every square inch of the cabin to identify the source of the noise, order the right job to be carried out the first time round, that would something.

If fact, all it needs is spending more time in diagonising the symptom and carefully identifying the source of the problem before fixing would be a marked improvement already. Just like doctor or specialist, send the patient for a thorough scan, X ray, blood test, etc before prescribing the treatment. I find the CSA and mechanic at PML simply resort to guessing from symptom and order the repair, and crossed their fingers that they hit it right. It is no wonder that it almost never get anything repair done right the first time round.

Then again, we can't tell how good service and standards are outside singapore. Hmm, anyone experience repair job done in Malaysia's workshop?

i have a cousin in law who used to work in PML K. Arang.
he is known to find faults and rectify it until he is satisfied himself.

there is this cusotmer who complained about noise squeaks, he checked and checked and even hide himself in the trunk and ask the owner to drive the car to narrow the source of the noise.

guess what??

he has to resign!

his immediate boss says he is taking too long to rectify a car!

but his cusotmer complimented him and even wrote a letter to PML to praise about his professionalism!

his cusotmer looked for him on the next visit to ask for him because he trusted him.
he was disappointed to find out that he has resigned.

Next, the cusotmer called him, of course he was joless at that time.

He was offered a job and was sponsored to an oversea college.
He is now a director of this big oil company...and he is still in the same company.


How do you expect PML to treasure and keep good people and provide good service?

Just returned from PSA.
Yes. When I had my problem with noises in the E46 and Alexandra couldn't rectiify it, Jeff Vasaloo had someone hide in the trunk to listen. At the end of the day, they found the problem and rectified it.

Squeeks and creaks are not really major issues although it would really be so much more enjoyable when you collect a brand new car free of these - like the M6. These are minor irritants. I gauge their competence thru their knowledge of engine and electronic problems and how they solve these. Sad to say, up to now, I am still not very happy with how they solve these.
