Tom, the 124 was S$800+ each, but you may get 25% in June. You can definitely get all narrower or wider rims. My Pirelli was S$500+, my 16" were worth $600, but heard the 17" can fetch $900 when new. I hope I answer all your Qs.
btw, is your ride lowered?
many thanks.

Some say 1.3L is ok, but there are also people that claim 4.5L is still not powerful enough. Power is subjective. If you have been driving your 17", upgrade to 18" is definitely a drag on your 523, it will not pull as fast as before. I am on 18", I changed to 18" on the first day I collected my car, so I will never know how many horses that extra 2" had killed. But I am happy, because one will always be hungry for power, one just need to be contented to be happy. I'd suggest 245 for front and back, rather than having 275 at the rear.
I strongly recommend South East Tyre at Kaki Bukit. What rims do you have in mind?

My Ride: E60 - 520i Dec 2004 built
Previous 320i for 5 years
I was sourcing around for 166rim and tyres. Asked PML and was quoted $858 per rim and $610 per Continental tyre (CSE2 ). The same was quoted by Chin Wah was 875 per rim or 1,500 per wheel ( rim plus PS/2 tyre) . All are 245 for both front and back. Both companies are after discount.
Would apprecaite if those who had bought the same to comment on the pricing.

The correct tyre size for 19" 166 is 245/35 in front and 275/30 in the rear.
Was your quote for 8.5J all around?

25% off I meant, not just pay 25%. Every June PML will offer 25% off for accessories, rims included. The Rosso was $520 each to be exact, inclusive of installation.
I have not used other tyres on my 520, so its kinda difficult to compare them with others. However, the sidewall is on the softer side, the ride was a tad bouncy. Quiet, but not that grippy though, my electronics kick in often especially on wet carpark surfaces.
they are already 40k Km, another 10-20k to go according to South East. My next one will either be PS2, or the RE050, I was told the latter had harder sidewall, which should make the ride firmer with my existing stock suspension.

Just to reinforce what I mentioned earlier. I was looking for the BBS RS-GT rims for my M6 sometime last week. I wrote to BBS Germany who recommended me the correct size and spacers. Equipped with the details, I went to at least 5 dealers in Singapore; South East and Chin Wah included. The result:
Chin Wah quoted me SGD 8500.00 all-in (rims and spacers only) with the exact specs. The PS2 tyres 255 and 285mm were also quite competitively priced. All this was done within a couple of days. I am ex[ecting the BBS before end March.
South East came back this afternoon. Their price was SGD 9100.00 all-in (rims and spacers only) with the exact specs. I was told to expect the rims in 2 to 3 months if I placed my order today. I did not bother to ask re the PS2 because I had already confirmed with Chin Wah.
