2. EUGENELOKE

By the way LMK, stupid question, what exactly are the things we need to buy? I know the MacMini and TV Tuner. What else? Please advice.

i tried a windows computer before this macmini. it does not start up from standby 80%. it is like keeping your fingers crossed everytime your start your car, hoping that it will run. i have to reboot most of the time.
for a mac, i have never been failed to boot up from standby. thus the reason why i stick to mac.
the ironical thing is, i am a Windows user since Microsoft started Dos1.0!
for those who is still interested in getting windows, Shuttle from Taiwan is launching a computer with Macmini lookalike with even a smaller platform than the mini. cost from Taiwan is about 270usd. much cheaper than the mini. (p.s. it needs a different power supply to allow it to go standby mode in 10 seconds after turning off your car)
i wish, i really wish, someone can write a GPS software running on a Mac OSX!

i bought a SirfIII receiver ( the latest receiver GPS) for about 200+ inlcuding the GPS software from Eastgear.
i tried the griffin powermate and i like it, i borrowed it from a friend. My problem is i do not know where to place it in the car.????
Yes, you can check it out. as i am waiting for mine to arrive. it is very simple, USB, plug and play. software to program what you want the the knob to function as.
a mini meet up is fine, before 7th dec, as i am flying out after that.
let emphasize, i love to have a 7" touch screen and a mac GPS. this will make the whole setup complete.
