hi all,

will be collecting my 523 next week a black with auburn interior.....despite reading all pros and cons .yea i know it would have been better getting a 525 (35K) more and i pay for same road tax etc...but that i rather keep that cash and put into other use to .mind over heart here.

any way please advice

what to look out for when collecting the new car
what i drive version to expect and do i ask them to get rid of the nuisnace messages

are the run flats that bad
what rims to go for and tyres etc.
should i trade in rims/tyres
where to have v kool done
where to do zymol
can smg be retrofitted to 523
who shoud i look for as a service tech.
i know its all n the previous post but dam to much to read and dig out.this E60 net might as well be named Singapore E60.hahaha.

1628, is that your car number? Congrats on your 523. You are going to love driving it. My advice as follows:

1. Check the car body for scratches and dents; check that all the functions are working properly (lights, signal, autocar seat, idrive screen no dead pixels, etc). Check all tools in the tool box, cupholders not stuck, mirror can fold in, phone/radio working.
2. idrive version is 19.2. You cannot tell from the screen but confirm with sales rep. No more nuisance message for idrive
3. run flat is noiser but bearable. The new generation run flats are more comfortable.
4. I have the 18in style 124 rim with Goodyear F1 GD-S tyres. The road grip is fantastic and noise and comfort level good too.
5. if u want to trade in tyres and rim, must do it before u collect car. Otherwise, no more value
6. vkool and zymol - do an internet search or go to yellow pages and u can find the information. I do not think vkool necessary
7. service tech - i think everyone the same. I never bother to ask for anyone

Enjoy your ride and post some photos. Also, I think Edlee and company will welcome you to their regular meet. You can learn a lot from these guys.

are the run flats that bad - not that bad if u drive ah pek style, bad if u go sepang wif me.

what rims to go for and tyres etc - the stock 523 rims r not too bad, else go for the 135 or the 166m which is 19 inch.

should i trade in rims/tyres - yes if u think u gonna b sick of it for sure

where to have v kool done - sin min....search web for vkool, 1k half a day

where to do zymol - send a pm to russo, or search web for bronze carman

can smg be retrofitted to 523 - no, pml doesnt offer retrofitting.

who shoud i look for as a service tech - charles in pml alexandra

My Ride: e60 530i - SOLD!
Default

My ride is in for regular maintenance; software upgrade; Aux input installation; some minor rattling noise fixes here and there.

Got a loaner 523i - hey! the engine is reaaaaaalllly smooth and quiet. Got to give it to the new engine. No active steering on this one... what a difference in steering response.

This sunday noon, bmw.sg Kallang get together. Anybody stopping by?
Let's go!

Quite a few new e60 owners around here for an intro.

where can i go to exchange and how much roughly will cost me to exchange run flats for ps2.
