Just last week I drove up to Genting Highlands.? The drive up was quite effortless.? On arrival, I notice a very strong gasoline smell at the rear of the car, is it something to be concerned about ? <_<

Yes I think there is definite need to check if gasoline is leaking somewhere! IFAIK the petrol tank is situated below the rear seat, so is the petrol pump (that's the case in the E39 and I would think it is similar in the E60 - please correct me if I am wrong); and if the "rear" means inside the cabin, it requires immediate attention! If the "rear" is outside, you may want to ascertain if the smell is stronger near the fuel filler or the exhaust, each have different implications. In any case, it is advisable to have your ride in to get a thorough check!!

In 2 of my previous rides, I have fuel leaking in the engine compartment!! This happens after some rubber connecting hose's clips loosen or near the injectors - I wouldn't want to think what would happen if the fuel is to leak onto the exhaust manifold, but my sensitive nose got the better of it!

The smell was strongest near the exhaust. Could smell it in the cabin but very faint and only a day later. The next day the gasoline smell outside the car was gone and when I left Genting, no smell at all, evening after driving for a few hours. Nevertheless, I will check with PML. Thanks !

Test drove the 730Li today. If anyone else is going there watch your step. Its pretty dark inside. These are what I observed.

1) Power and responsiveness of the new valvetronic double vanos straight 6 (N52) was much better compared to the current 730i (M54TU).
2) I drive screen looks better (higher res) and more lively colours
3) Didn't like the original 'flower' rim on the 730Li
4) Floating lens look much better
5) Rear lights look much more complete now
6) CD cartridge has a fresher shape
7) Headlight switch and aircon dials are now chromed coated at the sides
8) Ride was bumpy probably due to over inflation of tyres.
9) Xenons standard except for phone. (only for 740Li and above)

Retailing at $280k for 3.0 and $312k for 4.0

Any takers?

Hi All,
After ungraded s/w to 16.1 fuel consumption has gone up, doing abt 14.5/100km (520i/ City driving) . AS feel tighter and don't feel the turning radius is performing to spec. for I've been driving mths- I can feel the different. :'( Anyone experience the same and care to comment? Your comment will be much appreciated.

Hi robo,

Welcome to our 'humble' forum. Nice to have more users dropping by our Singapore corner. Anyways, 14.5 is pretty high I must say. I'm getting 10.7-11 (City/Expressway) with my 15.x. Waiting to hear more feedback from everyone else before taking the plunge. So far, I've been getting occasional problems with the window 'Anti-Trap' error message coming up for my front passenger side window. The fix is usually done by winding down all windows, turning off engine and then re-starting the vehicle. Sorta' like 'RESTARTING WINDOWS!!!!'. Thanks god I'm a MAC user!

Hoping to meet all of you on the 1st if my schedule allows. I've not been around for a while now. Got to feed the family lah!
