Went to look at the new Lexus GS300 today. ....
But hey, it all depends of whether you mind driving what is basically a Toyota with a "L" badge![Tongue](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/tongue.gif)

You guys keep calling Lexus an upgraded Toyota as if that is a bad thing. Is it ??
The definition of luxury is the enjoyment of costly things or anything enjoyable that is usually something not necessary; so the fact Toyota put to good use their quality then add luxury to it is smart (to me )
Of course , I'm sure you guys buying decisions are not based on the need for a status symbol--a little $2 flying propeller or three-pointed star--because if you are, then there must be lots of insecure people around here . LOL ...
I can't imagine the amount of quality issues a BMW owner has to endure (e.g EdLee) , and yet continue to sing praises for the brand.
It seems to me the blind loyalty to the brand is misguided and misaligned .

Lexi, welcome to the forum. It only takes one drive to differentiate a Japanese car and a German. No matter how refined a Lexus is, it will never had that teutonic feel. And nobody here said Japanese is no good, Eggz is merely stating the facts that Lexus is the premium brand of Toyota. I don't think anyone could deny that. In fact I am very impressed with Toyota/Lexus reliability. Going for one will never be wrong.
But we are a bunch who appreciate driving pleasure. We really enjoy the drive so much so that all the quality issues had become insignificant compared to the sheer driving pleasure that we derived from driving a BMW. This is not blind loyalty. I don't blame you for having such an opinion, you will never understand unless you drive an ultimate driving machine.
To each his own. And if everyone is driving a BMW, I will be selling mine.

Well said, Tategoi. Anyway, welcome to the forum, Lexi.
Been seeing too many E60s around; maybe should take a page off Tategoi's book and begin looking around for a buyer.

Edlee, but your E60 is unique compared to others. You have your bodykits on and also your set of rims..
And not to forget, your powerful v-8 engine..

How come I never get invited to the launch? Can gate-crash?

Think they only invite those who bought an E46 from the sales rep previously. Cannot gate crash only those invited can go. You can check with Pam if she can invite you though.
