Hi kiasu,

I traded in my std 520 rims for type 138 rims with run flat tyres at the price of $4026.00. I heard the rims are 3000+. The run flat tyres per piece is $400-$500. You should have change it before the delivery. Now your old rims and tyres can only sell away at a lower price.

530i, send me the story also. yns88@hotmail.com. Thanks ya.

Cheers.

Hi Sg520i, thanks for the information. I will drop words with my neighbourbood tyre shop to call me if they have E60 owners selling new or almost new 17' rims to them. Normally, such rim can be had at good bargain price.

kiasu...seriously, the std 520 rims is ugly big car wif small rims and the design is too plain. I think 18" looks the best but if go over a pothole...good luck man....I tried once, and will never go for it again.

hm.... somehow with the e60 body design, those 16" rims make the car look top heavy and out of proportion. (kiasu... mai kia hor!)

on pothole .... with the 18" on 40 wall profile i think it's not that bad, is it? was yr experience relatively similar tyre profile? what happened... twisted rim?

btw... compare with e39.. realise e60 is really big hor! i jez noticed the PML loaner e39 filled my tiny car porch much less than the e60.

My previous e46 has 18" rim 40 profile...I went to malaysia...cruise over a pothole...the rims abit twisted(not obvious)...I didn't notice it until my tyre wear out faster on that rims...I did not change it but sold away the car.

I checked with PML on the installation of PDC for my 520 which i have alrdy taken delivery. they told me that they are not able to do that n it can only be done when e order was made. any idea whether this is true? i could do it on my E46, why not on the E60?

Oh yes...it is true. Because the sensor is fixed nicely into the bumper. Unless you want to change your whole bumper...

I suggest you go for aftermarket reverse sensor. Only sound but no image. That is good enough.

Ed520, try Juz4cars at Sing Min Auto Centre. They specialises in aftermarket parts and modding BMW. But they may not have the accessories for E60 yet.
