PML now said they needed 3 days to do the retrofit. I am also going to ask them to remedy the following:
1. door squeaks which came back despite the anti-friction tape treatment on door frames
2. change engine oil at 8700 km although no warning by the computer yet
3. address engine drag when car goes up slope and then move to level ground. Seems that the engine or computer still thinking the car is on the slope and drag the gear and refuse to change to gear 2 from gear one.

I think E60 520 price in Singapore is going to drop to $180,000 in the months ahead.

Saw a black 520i (XXX 7070 X) doing PDC retro-fit in PML today. Is it your ride?

///M-trois, automotive spy reporting in.

Remember i said that the PML/BMW Asia after sales manager was staying in my estate? Well, he had a new toy parked in his lot today. A highly spec-ed Silver Grey/Auburn 525i (which is a great combo btw, the auburn looks fantastic)

This car had the sunroof, adaptive xenons, roller blinds, PDC, the voice command system and the Pro-Nav 8.8" widescreen LCD screen! Are these options already available for ordering locally or is PML testing them out?

Took some pics as well (forgive the quality tho!)

P.S - anybody here with a black AC-Schnitzered 530i? carplate no. 72....i saw it parked in the terminal 2 multi-storey carpark earlier this evening....Great looking....a sick car!

The other 525i (Olivin) that I saw with wide screen and Nav is the one that went in for bluetooth retro-fit (1st to do so in PML) that purported belonged to a senior executive in a German company in Singapore. He's using SIEMENS I heard....... get the clue?

I believe these cars are already in Singapore but the s/w for NAV??? Heard that it will also consist of maps for W. Malaysia??? Otherwise I think it's going to be another useless option locally - I mean Singapore is soooo small.

Ed520,

Bluetooth is already available as a retro-fit. Only problem is only a few phones are fully compatible with it. Others I heard will pair, may not get the phonebook over (you would be able to choose party to call from idrive) and may get drop calls. Anyway, there is so little we know about the bluetooth in BMW and I for one would want to wait for all the teething problems to be ironed out before retro-fitting my ride...... but at the cost of some $2600.00 (plus labour), it is one expensive toy toown!

Ed520,

ASAIK, those add-on bluetooth kits available from Nokia or Sony Ericsson will work but will also leave the wiring visibly messy. They will also not mute audio while a call comes in/out.

But hey, they are at a fraction of the cost!!! What's more, if you do follow some of the fellow forumers take on the BMW bluetooth, there seemed to be numerous complaints on compatibility issues, pairing issues, phonebook issues, reception not clear due to positioning of the mics, etc...

I will wait for BMW to improve on this toy before considering retro-fitting.

Back to xenon, push or pull, I still get yellow light leh. What about 530i, do you get xenon high beam when you push the stalk?

There will be a BMW.SG meet-up this Sunday at Kallang, anyone going?

tategoi, the latest production E60 520i has factory fitted xenon headlights without addition cost to buyer. Xenon retrofit for 520i is not available yet. The lesson to learn is: not to rush into buying a new model until more free options are included later on. I think one to 2 years on, PDC would also become standard option without additional cost and certainly, the bootlid release button will be added free as well.
