Ed520, when is your car production month? Mine so far no stalling yet, touch wood. I thought I read somewhere that Caltex is good for BMW engine, and I have been using it since day 1.

Ed520,
If I were you, I would ask PML for a permanent solution otherwise to take the car back!
It sounds real scary, especially when you are not able to tell when is it going to stall next.
Even if they provide a so-called solution (s/w upgrade or otherwise) ask them to sign a letter of undertaking that the solution would not be temporary - and it would not cause such life-threatening situations.
Remember the lasy 7 series owner to sue PML and won, maybe we can help find out who her lawyer was!!

i think i'm going to talk to robert friend and ask him to give me a perm soln. i dun want to die cos of some stupid car prob! u think u could give me his contact details?
i'm seriously considering selling my car n changing to a 525/530 when the new engines come in. but then, u think they would take back my car n give me a refund? or a replacement?

5. They programmed the mirrors to fold on locking with the key.
Need your help! So you managed to program the folding of mirrors via remote ? Do you remember which PML technical person helped you ? Apparently my PML salesgirl checked with the trainer and the reply is that 'its still not available'... The PML folks have so much miscommunication and lack of knowledge ...

Booked525iA,
My advise is - DON'T believe everything your salesgirl tells you ! AFAIK, save for a few "lao chiao", they are one bunch of pretty ignorant people. What they could tell customers are downright basic, trust me.
By now, I believe many of us have this option programmed already. Apparently, all they need to do is to program just this particular module and it shouldn't take long.
Look for CSA Charles Ebenzer and he will arrange for this minor procedure to be done quite quickly I suppose. The techie I know usually have it up his neck with so many E60/E65 programming.
The folding mirror adds as a visual assurance that the doors are locked and can be verified from a distance (outside range of remote key that is).
Cheers

I received a call from PML today that PDC retrofit is now opened for booking. The retrofit will cost about S$3,000 and those interested need to place an order and a deposit. The actual installation will take place about 3 - 4 weeks after ordering. The PDC will consist of front and rear sensors (no rear only option) and it is not the video type but the one with the graphics display.
