Just called pml. They said need some more time to check. So far few cars went in due to active steering failure. The car engine will cut off and steering is heavy. Just becareful when you drive. There is another new version of software for 520. Just release a week ago. They are putting it in my car and other new 520. This suppose to fix most issues...i hope...Cheers.

Hey sg520i, the same thing happened to my car a couple of weeks back

Did your check engine light come up as well? The heavy steering feel was probably because of power steering failing as well

oh...yes. Exactly!

Did you send your car back for check up? I was stunned and stop by the road shoulder. I called local bmw and they toll my car away. This car is crazy. A toyota nearly bump into me from behind.

I'm in Singapore as well. I called PML and had the car sent in for a check...this was about a month ago. they didn't have any concrete evidence as to what is caused the stall..... If it helps, i was still in my break in period back then. Also had that strange engine rev modulation between 1500-2000rpm then, but its gone after the car had been properly broken-in.

Luckily my car stalled when i pulled out of Shell Coronation at the side road. Damn dangerous if the car had died on a busy road or highway

sg520i, you should demand PML work your car thoroughly before returning it to you this time. There was a chap i met driving 520i and had the same problem and he told me PML changed whole bunch of things and extended his warranty period.

e-mail me at zagatoe@yahoo.com if you like so i can hook you up with him on the details he worked with PML.

The trim thingy was me. It is because when I ordered the car, I had asked for titanium II trim, but the car came with the aluminium wave cut trim instead. So the SE said that since it was their fault, I can change trim to to titanium II, but after I saw it, was disapointed with the colour and decided not to change it in the end.

I'm now waiting to see if the new M5 trim becomes available, that one looks real cool!

I though you have changed. My friend is looking for a used aluminium trim. I thought can intro to you and buy. I used to like the trim but now i really pissed off with the car. My lesson learned, nvr buy a first few versions.
