I'd bet money that it has picked up some damage on route, check it with a fine tooth comb BEFORE handing over any money. You will be in a much stronger position to reject it before they get their hands on your wedge!

Just received e-mail from SA at dealership saying that it's not in their control, as they need to wait for BMW UK to deliver the cars, which is fair enough. They were quite apologetic.
I understand it's not the dealer's fault, but I just don't get why it's going to take BMW UK 17 days from consignment in port to deliver the car to the dealership. You're probably talking about a distance of a 100 miles or a little more (I'm not sure which port it is).
Anyway, they'll see what they can do to get it speeded up, but if I'm honest I think there is little they can do. I also suggested that I can call BMW UK directly to try and move it along, but the dealer didn't seem too keen on that idea.

I really don't want to go behind the dealer's back and phone BMW UK directly, but I am beginning to think this might be an option. Has anyone in the UK ever done this?
Not sure what to do now. With what Russ has said, I am seriously starting to think that it has been damaged in transit. Russ, if your car has been given 10th October for collection, that means they'll be getting it in around the 5th.
Russ, where geographically are you picking the car up? You can PM me the dealer name if you like: I'm just trying to work out if they're in the same region or not.
