My 550 is at least as quick as the z28 in a straight line, much faster on a road course and gets over 20mph to boot! ![Whistling](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/whistling.gif)
......and it's not a chevy! Another satisfied customer.

That said, I do agree that a Camaro and any BMW are not really in the same class. The higher BMW price buys significantly upgraded materials.
My former daily driver was a 2003 Mustang Mach 1 (32V 4.6L V8 rated at 305HP). It's now in the garage. Awesome car that puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. But its just not in the same league as the BMW - in more ways than one! I spent more just to get the front control arm bushings replaced on the BMW than I spent on Mustang repairs over my entire 7 years of ownership. While Ford build quality may not be as good as BMW, the reliability is definitely much better.
BTW, I don't regret buying the 530i, but mine has a modified engine. Wasn't really looking to buy, but couldn't pass up the opportunity. I am certain I would not like an unmodified 530i as much.

some weird responses here.....if you had a high hp car and wanted to get into something similar powerwise then you shouold have gone for a M5. Dont blame your unhapiness with your current low hp e60 because of not being able to afford a car with comparable hp in the BMW family. comparing a 2 door high hp (worked on) chevy or a twin turbo z to a stock 4 door midsized sedan? what is going on here?
your fault for going that route

I moved up to a 535i from a 325iT and have no regrets. I love the power, handling and looks of this car. I've also owned a multitude of Mercedes since 1979 (continuously) and still feel the 535i is the best car of the bunch. Only my retired Porsche handled better and my wife's MB C230 is great but not up to the 535i standards for HP and MPG. I'd buy my 535i again but doubt I'll buy an F10 for several years. Maybe its looks will grow on me.

Typical response from someone who probably has not driven or is not really aware of the performance available from a late model Camaro. Those cars were putting 400 HP to the rear wheels with very minor engine mods (cold air intake & exhaust). GM severely underrated the engines. I would definitely put one up against your 550 on a road course (your car is easily 500 lbs heavier) and a 6-speed manual Z28 did get better than 20 MPG. Sorry dude!

As far as fuel economy goes - GM is the only manufacturer that produces 500hp cars that do NOT get hit with the Gas Guzzler tax.
I love my E60 mostly for the suspension and handling. But the Camaro gives me a fun factor that my E60 cannot match.
That's why I drive both.

Sounds like you meant to buy a new M3, but mistakenly handed over cash for a V6. You really need to pay attention to the sales contract next time.
Love my 545, but I want a new M3 as a replacement.
