do you regret your E60 purchase?

so guys i'm 6 months in with my E60. i had an LS1 2000 Camaro Z28 before this car and it was a BEAST. i test drove the 550i, 535i, and 530i and nothing compared, but i wanted a luxury car with a warranty, and IMO BMW was the only way to go. i had my Z for 7 years and i live in a dense part of DFW and just could not drive my car the way i wanted, not to mention i had so many damn problems every month with my Camaro i had to give it up. i've always wanted a BMW but overall i'm shocked that i am not as satisfied as i should be.
i love my 530i, i love bmw, but i think there are some serious drawbacks. speed is a big one for me, but that's negligible since i did buy a sedan. but my MPG sucks ass for an I6, my Z was getting 16mpg and it was 11 years old!
i dunno, maybe i'm just a sport's car kind of guy. i feel like the E60 offers the luxury i wanted. i think if i got 20mpg in the city, i'd be okay with it. i know this is a dumb post considering i get 16mpg and that's what i am bitching about, but for the speed and coolness of my Z, i just think it had a better enjoyability factor.
let me know your experiences.

imho you're comparing apples to oranges. just wondering but how come you didn't go for the 535i? it's got more power and the torque from the TT is pretty decent.
also, what's your driving habits like? are you constantly mashing on the pedal? do you drive both local and freeway? lots of traffic?

535i with a tune would've cured your itch for speed, the 530i doesn't even come close to a 535i let alone when you put a very affordable tune. I have the JB+ tune and I can run with a stock 550i if not beat it most times.

Love the 545i.....best car I ever owned. Seems like you only interested in straight line performance. What about build quality, handling, style, and comfort? Im sure the camaro had none of that Youve never been satisfied with that car even though youve tried to convince others that its what you wanted and its performce is equal to the 535i. You have come full circle

love my e60
however, i am very nervous about owning it out of warranty
which is 1/2011, which sucks, not sure what i'm gonna do
i too owned a 99 LS1 Camaro SS, beast, but i was 10 yrs younger
like someone stated, apples and oranges

Unless you drive electric-no car really gets any better gas milage than another in stop and go dense city driving. I average 15-16 when all my driving is stop and go downtown driving. Get on the freeway its 32 (same car as yours). The camaro may have same city driving but promise on the freeway it was getting no more than 22-23.
Now for me that is not an issue because I dont go very many miles in stop and go-it is just the tim espent. Whenever I travel anywhere that puts miles on it is on the freeway and I am getting good mileage.
I am content with my 530, I have had it for 4 years and got it before the 535 came out. Will keep it for 1.5-2 years and then I will need to step up to an M car if I stay in the bmw family-nothing else is appealing to me from bmw at this point and the 530 is much to slow for the money-I will live and learn as much as the I6 is nice in some ways and sounds cool, you really need the turbo or a v8 to have any real fun

You should have bought a 545 or 550. Similar 0-60, 1/4 times, and MPG with the Camaro, but better ride, handling, and braking.
