Absolutely no regrrets with the 535i A. I can't think of another 2 ton luxury family sedan that comes close in performance and comfort.
Sheer joy!

I bought my 528 this past week. I wanted something big and luxurious with all the gadgets to cruise in. No regrets. If I find myself not driving the other cars after a year or two, then I may just consolidate it down to an M5.
If fuel economy was high on your list, then perhaps you would be better suited with a hybrid, like a Toyota Prius for your stop and go driving profile. Electric motors got the instant tq. Or, another alternative would be a 335d with 425lb-ft of tq. My fiancee gets 23mpg in 50/50 city/hwy in her X5 diesel and that's a 5000lb gorilla. Has more power and better fuel economy than the Nissan Murano she had before.
Michael.

Regret I didn't do it sooner although I have have enjoyed the 10 year old Audi A6 still in the drive.
Thought this was a joke at first or troll, someone that liked a GM more than their BMW.

I've been without my 545i for 2 years. Had to cut back on bills since the wife got laid off and me shortly thereafter. Talk about bad timing. Had to make a decision to feed the family or keep the 5. Believe me, it was truly a tough decision. Anyway, I'm back in the market for another 5. Did not have regrets then, and won't have any when I get the next one.

I liked the 525 but missed some things I had in the prior X5 like sport package. I just upgraded to 2008 550 with many options and I fell in love with the e60. The handling is much improved and needless to say the power is impressive.

My Ride: 2008 550i DINAN
Model Year: 2008
Engine: V8

No regrets at all. I come from a history of BMWs, this is my 5th. My last BMWs were all 7 series, and I love the lighter (feels that way) car...
Although I wanted a BWM with a lot more HP, (I wish I could afford an M5) I got a 08 550i with the top DINAN modifications. It's plenty fast for me at 390hp. I can't take a co workers mod'ed 500HP Pontiac GTO (late model), but I got plenty to put me back in the seat.
They say the V8 is a dying breed in the 5 series, since BMW seems to want to put forced induction into everything now. Maybe someday a M5.
I love the 550i, but I'm sure there are other 5 series that would be just as fun. Did you test drive the car before purchasing?
