My Ride: 2006 Titanium Silver 550i, with all the bells and whistles!!
short story, really
...dragged my engine cover all the home last night
long version.....
had a good dumping of snow yesterday (no worries have snow tires) and at some point on the way home the windrow of frozen slushy snow found a way to get into the bottom engine cover. the back piece folder down, snapped a couple of the connectors, and filled with snow. the roads here don't get plowed, so with all the road noise form the slush and snow I did not figure this out until I pulled in the driveway
what a f**cken pain in the ass. was able to remove the front cover after digging all the snow out, but could not get to the clips holding the back piece so I zap strapped it up.
anway, can't find the part number on RealOEM.com, but really just wanted to vent

What?? Do you mean to tell us that both of the city's snowplows weren't out there working hard to clear all the roads?
Sorry, as a Vancouverite that was relocated to the frozen prairies I have to get my digs in somehow... you can get me back in Feb when you're watching the grass grow and it's -40 here!! Bummer about the damage, although it shouldn't be that expensive to fix -- I had the same thing happen to my E39 when I still lived there and it was a pretty easy fix -- you also have access to all of the recyclers in Richmond/Surrey for used parts (I would guess you could find an intact replacement without too much effort).
Good luck!

You can find the underbody covers in Realoem under the sections Vehicle Trim and then Mounting parts, engine compartment. The plastic underbody panels, from front to back are all listed there.
