The one I posted was just like yours and the module you should get. You're over thinking it. Sticker the same (no GPS, bluetooth icons), plugs on both ends the same, get it. The one I linked to was 2 years newer. Don't worry about PN or anything else. Just what I said and you'll be fine

I was wondering today, since I’m going to try this as a resolution would it be worth snagging the correct trim piece for the unit I got out of the 08 E9x (with the preset buttons) and coding it in? I’ve got the tools to do so. Wasnt sure if it’s a better unit than my original since it’s newer and not reflowed like mine haha I mean I have it and I only paid $13 at the yard for it. The car went in the day before I went so it wasn’t in the rain or anything either. Just tossing it around I suppose.

You're opening a whole other can of worms with that one. I don't know which one you have but I'd imagine to get it to work you'd have to change the build date and flash an E60 firmware to it.

I realized today that I lost all notification gongs at some point. Don’t honestly know when they stopped but I realized it this afternoon. Would that module being junk cause that? From everything I’ve heard and read it usually means the amp went out but I’m not sure. Can I put a meter on any of those pins to check power? I’m guessing there’s really no way to test it considering power going in is just power going in, and no way to tell if it’s coming out?

That's why I ask did you was there a key gong sound because that's would indicate an amp issue. I've never tested an amp before for power, I've just replaced them due to MOST test failure
