difference between snow tires and all season, is TRUELY NIGHT AND DAY... I dont know how else to describe it....

key is to get the correct tires. The first season I had my E60 RWD, I tried to drive with my stock all-season Contis. That didn't go too well though they say the all-seasons can handle mud + snow.

Regardless of tires, be careful when there is ice beneath the snow, even the snow tires will slip. I got a pair of cable chains for this year..just in case

We got an inch of snow here yesterday. I was nowhere with my e60 rolling on "high performance summer tires" and turning off ESP would send me into instant spin and i could not drive off without ESP kicking in

But hey.. what do you expect with 600nm of torque at 2000rpm
