My Ride: '04 545i Sport 6 speed
Default

Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum and BMWs and I want to thank everyone for contributing to this forum, it's been really helpful to me. I finally got around and coded my 545, NCS expert seemed too complicated at first and it took me a while to get comfortable with and I wanted to share my results.
Coded the following and worked:
CAPPL:
LEGAL_DISCL (No legal notice on IDrive startup)
nicht_aktiv

VA_SEATCLIMA_SHORTCUT (Seat heater display comes up in iDrive when heat button pushed)
aktiv

VA_SEATHEAT_SLIDER (Seat heat hi-med-low slider in iDrive)
aktiv

FL_UND_NSW_NICHT_GLEICHZ (Allow High beam and fog lamps on at same time)
nicht_activ

BC_DIGITAL_V (digital speedometer is cluster)
aktiv

KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_FB (Close windows via key FO
aktiv

GEBL_ANZEIGE_AUTO (Climate fan speed display via orange light around manual speed knob)
aktiv

Not working:

VA_CORNERINGLIGHT (Cornering lights menu. Lights come at low speed turns, with turn signals and in reverse.)
aktiv

shows up in idrive and when I click on it to enable the check mark disappears right away not sure why, anyone had this issue? btw can someone explain what this does anyway ?

I also noticed that music doesn't start where it left off anymore, it starts at the beginning of the song whenever I unlock and start the car. Is this a feature that can be enabled somewhere ?

Also can the seat belts chime be disabled on '04 e60, I couldn't find specific code maybe I missed it so I apologize if it's been posted already

Hi, for the bulb error codes - Do I need to code nitch_aktiv to both cold and warm as well as error check parameters ? The reason I'm asking was I tried to code the Cold check only and got errors while executing jobs.

After ordering my cable here(http://www.one-stop-electronics.com/...&product_id=16) it took about 3 weeks to arrive in excellent shape. YES, you can buy cheaper cables, but I didn't want to risk frying a module for the difference of 40 bucks.
With the help of NCSEXPERT and a wonderful DIY (use google to find it) I've read for hours and hours. I've got the cable for a week now and these are my codings, all successful on my car.

CAS:
KOMFORT_EJECT (when engine running, stops engine and unlocks keyfeb by holding start/stop button)
aktiv

KGM:
BEIKLAPPEN_B_KOMFORTSCHL (fold up mirrors on holding close button remote)
aktiv

KOMBI:
BC_DIGITAL_V (digital speedometer is cluster)
aktiv

IHKA:
GEBL_ANZEIGE_AUTO (Climate fan speed display via orange light around manual speed knob)
active

HUD:
BLINKER_AUSSTATTUNG (turn signals in HUD)
aktiv

M_SPORT_HUD (part 1/3 for showing M Hud rev counter in HUD)
aktiv

CIC (CAPPL in older cars):
HUD_M (part 2/3 for showing M Hud rev counter in HUD)
aktiv

CIC_MDRIVE (part 3/3 for showing M Hud rev counter in HUD)
aktiv

HVAC_POPUP_SEATCLIMATE (pops up setting screen in idrive of seat heater after pressing button)
aktiv

ACOUSTICAL_LOCK_CONFIRM (makes birp sound when open/close, not standard on EU cars, needs activation in idrive after coding to work)
nicht_aktiv

LMA:
WL_NSW (Fog lamps come on slowly with Angel Eyes when opening, lights in auto mode)
soft_einschalten

This PWM_ changes the voltage of the normal AE lights and prevents the ugly dimming, even DRL are brighter now. This is a cheap solution and way better then HID, LED etc. It still looks OEM, but a lot brighter!
PWM_AN_SL_V_AL_1_34
wert_01

Other options:
wert_01 13,2v
wert_02 aus
wert_03 13,0v
wert_04 13,2v
wert_05 7,7v
wert_06 7,2v = Standard (Almost no light)
wert_07 13,0v
wert_08 12,7v

Because it's a E61 LCI it has OEM LCI LED lights, except for braking. I retrofitted bulb replace LED braking lights which will all throw error codes on iDrive, despite promising adds on OBD proofing. After switching all of these to "nicht_aktiv" the car is error free.
Weird as it is I needed to disable the _BLK_H also to be able to use the leds without errors.

By the way, forget SMD LED, get "high power leds 7,5w" looking like this: Sample

These codes disable error codes
KALTUEBERWACHUNG_BLK_H_L
nicht_aktiv
KALTUEBERWACHUNG_BLK_H_R
nicht_aktiv
WARMUEBERWACHUNG_BLK_H_L
nicht_aktiv
WARMUEBERWACHUNG_BLK_H_R
nicht_aktiv
WARMUEBERWACHUNG_BL_M_1
nicht_aktiv
FEHLERMELD_CC_RL_BL_2_L
nicht_aktiv
FEHLERMELD_CC_RL_BL_2_R
nicht_aktiv

Hope this helps anyone searching for nice codings. If you live in Holland near Utrecht and want some of these as well, contact me.

Excellent forum guys!!!!

HI BlaSTiWi,

I checked and believe I have LM1 . I really want to get rid of that ugly highbeam DRL . What options do i have? Can i just buy a new LMA (LM2) light control unit and swap out the current one. Is it just plug and play or would i need to do any additional wiring? Also, Have you done bulb errors by pass coding for LED bulbs? I try to disable to cold checks but the coding process failed with error COAPI-1142: PSW faulty ....nitch_aktiv ..I have to clear the .MAN file to get connected with NCS again. Thanks

Try to check and make sure you have the correct spelling of nicht_aktiv, maybe?

I think it was just a typo in my reply but I'll double check. Thanks. So, do you know if i can code something to get rid of that DRL. Is it possible to just have the regular night time driving light on always as DRL? Thanks.

Sorry not sure I'm on LM2 so maybe you can try make DRL_V_GEDIMMT function nicht_aktiv to turn off DRL on LM1.

The cold check is only executed at startup and the warm check at stopping the engine, I did them in one action and didn't have any errors. Be aware to disable the warm and cold check for _BL_M_ also, this is the 3rd braking light and these are all in the same check circuit evaluating my results.

I'm not very experienced in coding yet to answer that question as an expert, but considering my results I would assume that it isn't related. :-)

Hi, thanks very much. I'll try that. It would be perfect if it works. Thanks again.

oh, I understand it now. I guess I will need to do both. You won't be able to tell if a bulb ever bad or not anymore after coding right?
