Unless your 2004 car was built so late that it was after Oct 2006, you have the LM1.

My Idrive does not show the names of the tracks from the CDs in the CD Changer; however, if the CD is put into the main CD Drive, it does show. Anyone has an idea how to enable this so that the names of the tracks from the CDs in the CD Changer are displayed in the display?

If you talking about MP3 track names the CD-changer can not read MP3`s.

As BLooD said above ... the hardware itself is the culprit, the changer is not capable.
The other option is to use changer from 3-series (and/or 7-series, maybe ).

Just swap the CDC with one from the new 3 series and you'll get both CD Text and mp3. Dension use the capability even though the hardware is not capable.

Blood: My CDC reads MP3s.... if it shouldn't, then I don't why mine does, but, it does

Bruce: That's a long drawn task of swapping mate!
