Elric,

I don't know your location but I'm pretty sure you can upgrade your car (it might need some pre-wiring).

Here's a link to a thread about upgrading to CCC.

I imagine others can chime in as well with additional details.

Good luck!

Hi Rudy ,

thx a lot. I live in Germany. I will discuss it tomorrow with a friend of mine. He works at BMW as an leading technican and he has the TIS at home.

But he thought, that the wiring will be very expensive. His problem is, that he is very good in solving problems caused by the engine, or other things. But in questions about computers etc., he is not very well.

If you could give me additional help i would be glad about it.

Greetings, Elric

Can someone please post the instructions on removing this panel??? As I understand it, the MY2005 e60s will have wood on the lower portion, which is currently plastic. I am planning to replace this panel with the newer wood one and will need the instructions on removing and replacing this panel. Thanks.

Okay Guest, you owe me one! As I said in the earlier reply, this procedure is pretty involved since you have to take apart a bunch of things to get to the part you want to change. There are special tools involved, etc. Also, there are fiber optic cables connected to the CCC that have to be handled with care. Don't say I didn't warn you!

I've compiled the various steps into nine .pdf files. At the beginning of each .pdf is a number that indicates the step order. In some cases, I've subdivided a step into multiple parts. (For example, there is a step 1, step 2a, step 2b, step 3a, step 3b, etc.)

Okay, step 1 is to disconnect the battery (beware of some of the issues noted on the document):

Step 2a, remove the switches for the hazard warning system, and the central locking system (you will need a special tool illustrated in step 2b):
