Mrcjalvarez, are you in the US or in Europe? I ask this because HUD and Nav may be available in Europe earlier than in the US.

As Scork said, in the US, HUD and Nav are not available to order yet. If you dealer can order these two options for you, then may be we can order our cars with them as well. This may be possible as your order is for a November delivery. Last time I checked my dealer had only September or October deliveries (with no HUD or Nav options).

I am located in San Jose, California, USA. (Silicon Valley) My dealer informed me that all the options would be available for the car accept the DVD Theater Package (Which comes out later next year). The dealer was able to put in my order for the HUD and NAV, plus the seats with the lumbar support, etc. They expect to get the car along with thier first shipment of cars late Oct. early Nov. I chose the 530i. Rumors were that BMW was going to build the 525 for release in Oct. then the 530 in Nov, and lastly the 545. But BMW has finalized that and is shipping and producing both 530 and 525 models for shipment in late Oct, early Nov. In the San Jose/ Santa Clara area I'm number #3 on the list. I've been watching this car for about a year now.

Thanks for your reply, Mrcjalvarez! I better check with my dealer tomorrow to see if they too can start ordering the new 5 with HUD and NAV now. I didn't know there will a DVD Theater Package for the new 5 later. At least it is not listed in the order guide. Hum, I will have to ask if my dealer knows anythinga about this. Thanks for the heads up.

Sigh... I checked with me dealer and he said Nav is still scheduled for March 04. Mrcjalvarez, did your dealer give you a production number (possibly if the order is entered into the system) or even a VIN number (unlikely)? If you've got a production number, then I may have more ammunition... May be it is orderable now but it is not my turn yet?

Hey guys,
I am in Miami and last week my sales guy called me and
said that he thinks my car will be in November,
I ordered a 545i Sport with:
SMG, Premium Navi, HUD, P.D.C.,
Premium sound and cold weather package.

I asked him about all the stuff on the web about
Hud and Prem Navi not avail till 2004, and he said that
if the order codes show in the system, then he can order it already.
We shall see !

Just spoke with our dealer here in SC (not far from the BMW plant). They told me their initial allocation is for two 530i's and one 545i. The factory has loaded them up by default but in the next few weeks they will know for sure the pricing, exactly which options will be available, and also be able to make changes.

They stated scheduled production dates are CW38, which is the week of Sept 15. Also stated that they will probably not be allowed to sell the 530's right away as they will use them for promo purposes, but the 545 is free. As I am at the top of the list I have already "reserved it and plan to add the premium audio, cold weather pack, park distance and phone. Dont want/need the comfort seats as I have driven a 745Li for a week with them and was not too impressed.

Initial leaning toward black with tan interior but the silver grey is a sharp color. Right now 50/50

Just spec my order for delivery last week Sept in UK. 530d Auto sliver grey, black dekota lthr, poplar wood trim, glass sun roof, advanced air con, 17" style 116 wheels with runflats (not available until wk 36 production), business navigation; bluetooth + nokia adapter, servotronic steering, hi fi speakers, cd 6 changer... could have had car at UK launch on Sept 18th but had to wait for these 116 wheels.

Ordered Silver Gray 530d Automatic + Beige Leather + Servotronics + Dynamic Drive + Bi Xenon + 122 17" alloy wheels. Scheduled for the 3rd of September.
