i agree w/both dr.z and you. but no matter how much i paid for my car, my dealer is still one of the worst on earth !

I did not negotiate any price matter yet, of course. But It looks very tough to get good deal here at Bay area, CA. In fact dealer strongly wants to keep higher price in this affluent area.

Accessories, yes, I will wait until my salesman will give some goodies.... to look at the catalogues is another fun during waiting...

I think dealer inventory is pretty high here (Toronto Canada). I went to 3 dealerhsips and asked to see the actual colours on the cars so I could get to see their inventory. And there are plenty of 5 series (mostly 530s) on their lots. Whereas MB is doing much better... all 04 rear-drive e500 are sold. 05s are coming in 2 weeks.

I ordered a 545 last saturday from dealer stock... I got 9% off MSRP. The sales guy said there's a Cdn$4000 manufacturer rebate to move the 04 inventory. I can't complain. So the actual discount is about 3.5% off MSRP and the sales guy was happy and agreed to throw in floor matts and invited my son to the BMW store to pick anything he wants not more than $150. in total.. so I figure there's a handsome commission for the sales guy.

try your best at different dealers .

look at the catalogs is fun but nothing is better than this forum !
