May I ask if any of the uk purchasers are going to take up the 5 year service plan ?
Seems a good deal to me .

I'm going for it. My understanding is that it includes pretty much everything (including discs and pads) except tyres.

I have the package on my 525.

Covers wiper blades as well (at service times only)
Discs & Pads.

I think it is 5 years or 60000 miles which is 4 services at 15000 intervals on the petrol.

I only plan to keep the car for 2 years and will most likely cover around 35,000 miles in that time. Based upon this the service package didn't represent good value. With previous experience of BMW service costs I don't think ?750 is a bargain either and I seriously doubt if not having it will have any impact upon residual values.

A word of caution - it does not cover everything on the car so read the small print carefully.

My new 520 is due anytime now. I have not bothered with the service package as I do very low mileage and always found BMW service costs are lower than most other manufacturers - the Mini TLC pack is however very good value!!

I tend to feel the same as ISUK. If you keep it for 5 years then it definitely makes sense.
However ,,, the thing here is that BMW are simply trying to keep the revenue in the uk main dealer network.
The fact is that if you sell the car after 2 or 3 years I can't see it adding any value to say; "oh it has two free services left"
This is because your buyer will probably have a relationship with a friendly efficient non main dealer bmw specialist. A couple of services will only cost him ?180 ish?
I can't believe that after 2 years with the 530d I won't have seen something else I'd like to replace it with !

Ahead of you there stu. My thoughts are either a 630Cd (they are bound to make that car/engine combo available) or better still - the new M5!
