The k750i is not a recommended phone as far as I know, and it definitely does NOT work in the UK with Vodafone handsets. So, it may work for you, but it's not guaranteed. Nice phone though!
BTW the BT link provided by donv is way out of date. Few if any of the phones listed are still available. And if they are, you probably wouldn't want them!
I spoke to BMW UK about 3 days ago and they were recommending the Nokia 6230i and the Motorola V3. However, don't forget we're on a different timeline here. BT has been available / standard on the 5 series for years here, and I think we're usually a few months ahead of the US as far as handsets are concerned, so you may still be able to get some of the phones listed on that link. Good luck anyway. It';s all a complete nightmare. And when u get a compatible phone, the quality can still be terrible!

Any got any humble pie? I'm feeling peckish.
My comments related to the K700 not the K750. K750 looks like a great phone and I hope it works, I really, really do.
Still not sure about Sony Ericcson though. I have a T610 or T630 at the moment. It's a 100% compatible with the BMW, but GOD!! what a ghastly phone. Terrible interface, crashes all the time, gets scratched, useless camera etc. etc. The sooner I can bin it the better.
Shall I go for a 6230i, a Motorola V3, or even the K750? I wonder. Answers on a postcard.

Well, I finally decided to go for a V3 BLK RAZR
It's a cool phone, but doesn't compare to my previous i-mate JAM or even the good old SE P900.
It worked smoothly with the car (after several trial and error connection issues first, my faults!) and I am happy with the sound quality and phonebook transfer...
V3 was a good choice, IMHO.
Thanks to everyone for their replies.
