BMW 8 Series Convertible and Gran Coupe Confirmed

During a conference call, BMW boss man revealed the 8 Series Convertible and Gran Coupe  will be unveiled for 2019.

According to Motor1, BMW’s CEO Harald Krüger let a lot of information go in a recent conference call. We already know the 8 Series Sports Coupe and the M8 Concept Gran Coupe will be debuted in North America at the end of this month, but now we also know the 8 Series Convertible isn’t far away either. Following that, we’ll be seeing the M division versions as well.

As Motor1 points out, this is a part of a relentless onslaught of new models from BMW. The  M2 Competition, X4, M5 Competition and the new X5 are just the tip of the iceberg. The BMW Z4 is imminent and following the new the i5 won’t be happening and the speculation of what that means for BMW electric cars, it looks like we’ll be seeing the iNext concept car later this year.

Also next year the rumor mill is strong that we’ll be seeing a new X6, the front-wheel-drive 1 Series and M division versions of the X3 and X4. If that isn’t exhausting enough, there’s a strong possibility of the 3 Series growing another generation older.

It’s a crazy time for European luxury brands as the arms race ramps up on all three fronts on. There’s the SUV, regular car, and the electric vehicle market to contend with. On top of that, Jaguar is getting more involved and sticking its elbows out to start claiming a real space for itself. And Jaguar shouldn’t be underestimated. Their SUVs are strong and they are also taking a very strong shot at the electric market with the iPace, a vehicle that could disrupt Tesla’s own “disruption.”

It really is all to play for, and for us the consumers, BMW bringing some amazing vehicles to the markets.
