If you are going with a 9.5 inch wide rims in the back, the 285 is a bit of an overkill, so many people choose 275's to save some money. If you're going with a 10 inch wides, you'll need a 285 tire.

Congrats on the 535 - its a great machine! I wish you the best of luck with it and hope you share some pics (especially, when you hook it up )
I got 275's on my 10" VB3's, they work fine

I just dropped my 535xi with H&R's. Love the handling now and the ride is a bit "bouncy" but nothing noticeable unless I told you that I was not stock.

Stock height:

H&R's:

It will go a little lower bc it's still settling. (just had them installed 2 days ago)

Has anybody had any long term test results from their kw's? I wanna get a set and try them out but my dealer says lowering the xi will affect the drive angles? So has anyone had and trouble with the xi with lowering?

I discussed about the same issue with the company who did the installation and adjustment. There´s no harm done with the front if its not dropped to the bottom...mine is now lowered 40mm and there´s not big difference with the angle of the driveshaft.
Adjusting isn´t big deal. If you have staggered wheel setup (275 rear) you should only change the rear camber from -2 degrees to the minimum as far as it goes (I have -1.16) so that the inside of the rubber doesn´t wear out. Other than that we used the normal settings for caster and everything else.

About the long term experiences, the suspension for x-Drive was released last year. I have the first e61 x-Drive KW3 in Finland and the finnish importer said there´s only one KW3 sold to e60 x-Drive last year. I took my car to the same company who installed the e60 XD and they said he haven´t had any problems with the suspension.

EDIT yeah the dealer have to say that since the suspension is not OEM and BMW factory product. Anyways people in these forums have a lot of experience from the lowered x-models and I haven`t read any complaints about the lowering except the one with the lowering springs and the bumbstops.

Drive angles? What drive angles ...
I've been using H&R Sport springs for more than 2 years at over 21K miles along with 19" staggered wheels/tires setup on it w/o problem whatsoever ...

They are probably talking camber which is adjusted with the alignment you need to get after lowering. Snapped a couple pics last night of my XI dropped on H&R's

Add another, I just added a 2006 E60xiT to the stable.. only been a couple of hours, but I joined the groups weeks ago when I identified the purchase goal of a 2006 BMW wagon.
