Just adding a bit of info that may help:

I have been driving now 5000km with my KW3 and couldn´t be more happier with the suspension

Like member jay bimma, I haven´t had any clicking noises from the suspension. Loving the way the car handles now. When cornering there´s no bodyroll and the grip is awesome, but still it´s not too hard when driving on a bad road with a lot of ground frost "cuts".

KW always made a quality product, so I'm glad you got no issues with the noise

I just became a proud owner of a 2009 535xi with the m-sport package and the 18 inch rims. My first BMW (coming over from audi). I am looking to move up to 19's and have found this thread extremely helpful. I'll either go with the h&r sport springs or the KW V3 coilovers based on what I've read so far but I am still a little unclear about the staggered setup. Almost everyone seems to be going with Fronts 245/35/19...Rears 275/30/19 but wouldn't the overall diameter be closer to the fronts going with 285/30/19 for the rears?

Anyone here using 285/30/19's? If so, with what width and offset wheels? Any rubbing?

Thanks, any help would be appreciated.

Yes, 285/30/19 is a closer match for the diameter. There are plenty of people using 285's and I don't remember reading/hearing any complaints of rubbing. As long as you calculate your offsets correctly, there should be no issues. If you are going with a 9.5 inch wide rims in the back, the 285 is a bit of an overkill, so many people choose 275's to save some money. If you're going with a 10 inch wides, you'll need a 285 tire.

Congrats on the 535 - its a great machine! I wish you the best of luck with it and hope you share some pics (especially, when you hook it up )

Congrats for your car
If you have the money take the KW! It´s just awesome
Here´s my pictures with the height measures etc

I´m using Michelin PS2 285/30/19 without any rubbing with the 9.5 rim and ET40. But when I took my car to inspection, the guy told something new. Eventhough the diameter is exactly the same 655mm, the "rolling diameter" is not the same since the wider rubber isn´t compressed as much under the weight as the front. That might be the reason why the factory is using 275`s in their staggered set up for the x-Drive

I´m not worried about this and I compensated the difference with a bit higher pressure in the front.

Heh that's interesting, I always thought that the 275's are more stretched over a 9.5 inch wheel, so 285 is the better fit, but now I'm beginning to think maybe 275's are better for the rear - for handling too.

I like those 285`s because they give good protection for the rims. And look mean
I don´t think there´s any difference with the handling.
