Pretty tame acceleration if you ask me. It took 535d for ever to get from 100 mph to 125 mph. My not so fast 550 does it in no time.

It's really a sickness, trust me ..
Do you know what a sickness is? Trust, you?! Why on Earth???

How can it be a sickness to choose an engine that consumes 30-40% fuel?

If I had no better arguments than you do, I would be quiet...

It would be pointless to ask anyone to state the obvious when comparing entirely dissimilar enteties.

"Forever" and "no time" are, additionally, relatively challenging to compare anyway.

Ipp, how many times have you tried 545i (as you like, SMG or steptronic) ?
I have tried 535d, a pair of times .

Are you searching for an argument ?

And after, when I park the car in my garage I am not lack of breathe .

Conclusion : if you don't run over 20k km/year the 535d is useless ..

Good video.
Thank you!
Anyway ... 545i destroys the 535d stock .
535d remapped is faster than 535d stock, but between 100 and 200 kmh the 545i gains 2s on the remapped 535d (not remapped, instead, at least 4)

Destroys? Maybe.

BTW I've discovered grass is green and water is wet.

But your point is?

Diesel fuel is 7% more expensive in UK than unleaded so there must be something else than "headline price at the pump" here.

Also I have never understood (maybe it's taxation) why diesel is cheaper than unleaded almost everywhere else when, weight for weight it is more costly to get to the pumps than unleaded.

I think uk is trying to push people in buy greener cars like the new eletric car that you dont need to pay road tax and free parking too

It's simpler than that - commercial greed.

AFAIKin UK tax is no different between the two fuels and garages are setting the price levels people are prepared to pay.

Until there is a consumer revolution nothing will happen.
