I will have a virgin gearbox. High-speed runs will definitely be out of the question, and I'm seriously questioning the wisdom of a 1,600km round trip on a new box (not to mention the frustration and embarassment factors of an e60 running 600km of Autobahn at 120km/h).
Sorry to hear your problems. How about hitching a lift with me down and back?

Simon

Thanks for the offer of a lift, Simon. Let me figure out how we might make that work and have a chat with Sathia.

Our plans are starting to shape up.

Leave Helsinki on 9 June, arrive in Travem?nde on the morning of 11 June. Then drive to Kassel, overnight there. 12 June, meet everyone somewhere in W?rzburg, and drive down to M?nchen for the meet.

I will book the Motel One tomorrow... unless instructed to do otherwise.

Now, back to the footie.

I just booked the M?nchen Motel One, and the room rate (double room) was now 59 Euros per night, no credit card hold either.

The bigger room was 79 Euros per night - FYI.

This may be due to early booking or then they have changed their rates.

You've booked a double room for ONE person, not TWO persons! If you book the double room for TWO persons, its the EUR 74 rate I wrote before.

Or is the wife sleeping in the car?

I booked a double room for 3 persons (2 adults and 1 child).

Let me go and have a look...
