There is a huge difference in living in fear and taking reasonable precautions to avoid bad situations. As an ex law enforcement officer, I am sure you know and understand the valid reasons for taking resonable precautions in many circumstances that would be more dangerous otherwise. I would imagine you have even had the experience of advocating such precautions. Not swimming where there is a strong rip tide is not the same thng as living in fear. And, while I am referring to no one in particular, foolish bravdo is no substitute for the use of common sense.
